Located in the Village, this Mom and Pop restaurant is small and kitschy with very good food. The owners are also the servers and they're a hoot. The spring rolls and pho were tasty, and the mixed grill was delicious. The beignet was previously frozen and cloyingly sweet. This is a cash only, BYOB establishment, with reasonable prices. They do... More

I would just about come here for the service alone. The owners happy demeanor is somewhat infectious. Anyhoo.....needed some help interpreting the menu but ended up with a couple solid offerings including pho. Lots of other Viet choices in Montreal so I would try around elsewhere before coming back for a second visit.

We went for dinner; two set meals for CAD42. Food wasn't bad. Nothing special though, and a bit low on spices, herbs and vegetables. The deep-fried stuff (spring rolls, baked banana & apple dessert) was too greasy. Soup was quite tasty, as was the lemongrass chicken. Be sure to order some vegetable-rich dish with the latter though to make it... More

We enjoyed the vegetarian noodle soup and the salad bowl plus fab rice paper rolls. The food was fresh and tasty, must try. The owner is delightful with an amazing story that he told us when he realised we were Australian. He fled Vietnam after the war as a refugee and went to Australia with his siblings. He met his... I like Pho and I have tried various pho restaurants in Montreal. I don't think the quality is consistent with the rating. Very disappointed.

It's a nice place off the gay village. The food is ok, tends to be bland sometimes however the service is kind. Bring ur own wine.

We decided to take out some food as we had a long day looking for Real Estate in Montreal. While my son was at the gym we went to get the food. This establishment is a low key, kitschy place, but the owners and service are so very nice. While we were waiting we got complimentary tea, water and fortune... More

The food was simple Vietnamese with some other Asian influence. The prices for dinner were very reasonable. It had decent lunch deals. Please note, this restaurant does not accept any foreign credit cards or debit cards.

My wife and I had lunch and the Table d'Hote was $10.95 We both started with a Spring Roll which was light and came with a great sauce. She had the Soup and I had the Pad Thai. She loved her soup, but you have to like cilantro, and my Chicken Pad Thai was delicious. The free Green Tea kept... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
