Nor very friendly... Be prepared to wait at the door for 20+ minutes even when you have a reservation. Food is average; gives you the feeling of eating fast food. A warning; do not ask for a different combination of daily menu, that's just unacceptable! Music is average and sometimes too loud; not every table is in the same space... More

We just ducked in to check it out - it was not busy (we were early) but BOY did we have a good time! We sat at the bar, got tastes of wine, ate a ton of delicious food, watched a few regulars dance, were serenaded by the guitarist, we felt like royalty. It's on the to-do list for every... More

What better way to end an evening of a wonderful flamenco show but to go to an authentic Spanish restaurant famed for its tapas!!! That's exactly what I, and my gang of 20 aficionados of Spanish culture did on the night of June 7, 2015. It was my first visit but many of the group had been here before. It... More

We wanted to try La Movida my wife and i, so we got a groupon offer which included 4 tapas : we took the fried calamaris (good), eggplants and honey (good) , garlic shrimps (great), and the spanish omelet (Delicious). We also added a 5th tapas : chicken kebabs (not bad). The red sangria my wife had was to her... More

What a disappointment. The food is excellent, you should really try the bravas, it's the only place in Montreal where you can find them as they are made in Spain. But the service is BAD. We were a table of 9 people. Reservation was properly made on tuesday that same week. When we got there, they didn't find our name.... More

My wife and I decided to try this spanish restaurant based on comments we received from friends who tried it on a Groupon. We were attended promptly upon arrival and brought to the main dining area which has a very nice decor. We ordered 5 tapas and all were delicious and made with quality ingredients. The calamaris in black ink... More

We were a group of 8 on a friday night. I would like to mention that 3 of us work in different restaurants, so we do know how it works. Here it goes: When we first arrived, they didn't have our reservation (which was made a week ago), so obviously our table was not ready. Not a big of a... More

What was very good: a friendly, helpful waiter, the décor and the ambiance. The price of wine/beers is adequate. What was average: the food - it was just bland and very little flavor - no "umph" factor whatsoever. Not bad, not very good, just average. I'm surprised by some of the comments that the food is very flavorfoul. We had... More

We went here on a recommendation from a friend. We ordered the tapas and paella for 4 meal. $25 each got us about 6-7 dishes and paella. Each dish was great and complimented the last one. Great flavors, great atmosphere and delicious red sangria. Worth a stop when in Montreal for tapas.

Skeptical we were, my wife and I , since there was only one other couple in the entire place. Pleasantly surprised when whatever we ordered was fabulous and the staff was genuine in their efforts to please our group. Will return without hesitation.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
