Great Rum selection, Loved it. Tapas were great too. The price was reasonable. Gets crowded though we went without a reservation.

We stop by for a drink since we were in the area. The place have a warm and welcoming feel. The terrace nice and quiet. Lot of choice of rum, drinks and wine on the menu. Anybody would find something to suit him. Didn't stay long enough to try de tapas. The service of the waitress was nice and fast.... More

I love this place!! The back terrace really makes it worth while, it gives you a little feeling of vacation, giving you a break from the craziness fo it all! Sangria is delicious, they have a vast variety of Rhum and if you need a little snack while your there, their tapas are as good as their sangria!

Stopped into this place on a whim last night with a friend. The bar staff accommodated us at the bar by moving some chairs around. We had the wings and the quesadilla - they were above par. Great atmosphere. They were showing the habs game at a high volume, but hey.. this is Montreal, so can't really complain! Will be... More

When we arrived at Barraca, it was fairly quiet. At first we were pleased with the service, ordered drinks and tapas. The waitress brought the drinks within a reasonable amount of time, but we waited more than an hour before our food appeared. The place started to get busy and the waitress was running back and forth with drink orders.... More

Hi, thank you for your comment on our establishment. Would you please let us know which date and time you visited, so we can figure out what happened exactly concerning the low staff on a busy day, and figuring out with the cook present at the moment which was the problem regarding the kitchen and over 1 hour wait. Thank... More

Went for the 5-7 with a few of my ladies. They advertised 2 terraces, upon arriving I noticed the first terrace was located on the sidewalk in the middle of A LOT of foot traffic, which seems to be becoming the norm in Montreal. Looks real tacky to me, especially since it can hold a very few people. So I... More

You go there for a drink or two, the service is good, they have a wide selection of rhum and cocktails. It is on Mont-Royal street, just in the action!

I went with a group of friends for a quick 5-7 on a Thursday. Ended up staying almost until closing time! We started the night with a wide selection of tapas and all of them were really good, and some were just amazingly delicious (pulled-pork croquettes anyone?). As for drinks, this place is specialized in rums. My friends really enjoyed... More

Nice terrace, average drinks. The services is so so . They have stupid rules such as only a table of four in the terrace. You are not to put tables together. You should not be loud. After 11 everyone has to leave the terrace. Either you relocate inside or you leave the place.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
