The dinner over there was fine but there was a lot of noise. I was a little unconfortable. I recommend to take out the food instead.

An excellent meal at this little out of the way restaurant. If you happen to be in the area I highly recommend it. Your choice of spicy Thai or not so spicy. The table d'hote is an excellent value. Reserve ahead of time if you might be 6 or more.

Used to be amazed when I ate there but the menu has changed and prices have gone up. They are the same owner as the dumpling place nearby, I prefer the dumplings...

We felt we always had to ask for service but when we got it was always prompt. The food on the other hand was very delicious.

Been going to this restaurant for a few years now. They have non-spicy and VERY-spice menu options. I love SPICY and I find most restaurants all-too-often tame their meals to cater to a broader market--I hate that. Speak with the waitress and describe what you like and they will tailor a meal to your wants. I recommend the spicy pork... More

OK so all the prior reviews that talk about the food being spicy are right but the waiter told me that when I was trying to decide what to order. The restaurant is "no frills" but don't let that put you off because the food is delicious and the portions are large. I had the COCOTTE CANARD & BIERE (duck... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Bakeries, markets, restaurants, and buffets crowd the brightly graffitied streets of Chinatown, the city's aromatic destination for pan-Asian cuisine. Distinguished at its entry points by towering vermillion paifang gates, the compact neighbourhood acts as a focal point for the Chinese community, hectic with educational facilities, cultural centres, acupuncturists, and foreign-language newspapers. Especially vibrant in the warmer months, when the sweet smell of dragon beard candy along the pedestrian walks of Rue de la Gauchetière signal the beginning of the outdoor street fair season, Chinatown is a treasure hunter's dream, with enough knickknack and curiosity shops to tempt even the pickiest shoppers. The convivial vibe picks up after dark, when the area's active nightlife offers evening crowds their choice of drink, dance, and midnight snacks of pho or oysters. Chinatown's mix of new and old, with herbal remedies being sold alongside pop-culture DVDs, gives the area its own animated brand of moxie.
