I go for the Murphy's. Still like my Guinness. You have to taste test them, though. I find Murphy's stoutier. As for the fare it is pub food served with a dash of Atwater market.

We stopped in before our dinner reservation at Liverpool House and we ended up wishing we could have stayed here to eat. I had a few of the burgundy house beers and they were hitting the spot so I had a few more! We had...More

I've been spending a lot of time at the Burgundy Lion recently, so felt another review was in order. In the past 6 weeks I have eaten here many times. Upon arrival, you are seated by the welcoming staff. The waiting staff are always buzzing...More

I am not English, but I certainly know about what a full English breakfast is all about and so does my wife who comes from the U.K! The Burgundy Lion's version of it is simply an OVERPRICED DISAPPOINTMENT! The so-called "bacon" was nothing more than...More

We organized a reunion on a Saturday night. Was given a table on second floor, great service. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered and we never felt rushed.

There were 3 of us, all of whom ordered a different dish. None of us loved our choices. Our dinners were average at best. We ordered the burger, bangers and mash, and shepherd's pie. The service was excellent, and the wait staff friendly. However, with...More

Had the pleasure to have a drink there, the first bar opened on a Sunday night on Notre-Dame in la Petite Bourgogne near Saint-Henri - who says Ottawa is quiet! Packed of course of tourists from everywhere where the main language was English.

It might be because I am English, or it might be beacuse I love trying different Scotch's but this place is a treat. The food is really good English pub fare, (great Yorkshire puddings etc) and the deserts look terrific (being diabetic, my wife wouldn't...More
