My wife and I stumbled across this restaurant on a Sunday night and thought we'd give it a try. It was completely empty but nicely appointed as though in Greece, typical white and blue theme. We walked in and had to get the owner's attention as he didn't hear us come in? He sat us near the window of course... More

This place had some mixed reviews but we found the food excellent and reasonable for what you get, and the staff was warm and friendly we felt very welcome there. The place was full of people who all seemed to be enjoying themselves but it was not overly loud despite the activity.

The positives: great atmosphere. We felt like we were on the set of the movie my Big Fat Greek Wedding. They carried one of our favorite Greek wines and it was brought to the table well chilled. And now for the rest of the meal. We ordered appetizers. The taramasalata could have been bought anywhere, the tzatziki was average and... More

My wife and I eat low-carbohydrate and so we tend to look for Greek/Middle-Eastern restaurants wherever we go. Someone had recommended Alto to us, but we walked by Acropolis on the way back and thought we'd try it the next day. I'm happy that we did. We ate a little early, around 5:30-6:00 so that we could get to 7:00... More

This is a hidden gem in Montreal city. Away from the main streets where there are lots of other restaurants. The restaurant is small but has a lovely atmosphere. The menu is comprehensive and the prices reasonable. I had spanakopita which came with a Greek salad freshly made, rice and boiled potatoes. There was a side serving of toasted bread... More

The little woman and I were hungry for a gyro, and there happened to be a Greek restaurant right around the corner, so........We checked Trip Advisor reviews and, as usual, some reviewers loved this "hidden gem," while others thought it was terrible. What to do; what to do? We figuratively rolled the dice and went to Acropolis...ordered taramasalata and, of... More

We enjoyed the Greek food which was plentiful and the over-the-top decoration of the place. The weather was perfect and the restaurant was open to the street. Good vegetarian options.

This place was great! Huge portions of fresh food and the price were very reasonable. I had the chicken soulvaki with the greek potatoes with rice.

I wish we got some cold sandwiches from the pharmacy Across the street and kept our 100bucks to spend on something worthy. Worst greek restaurant ever. Nothing was fresh. Bread was over cooked, souvlaki undercooked, moussaka was swimming in oil. Slow and grumpy server. She could not even calculate the bill correctly. I would not eat anything if we were... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
