My sister and I went to Montreal for a vacation and when in Old Montreal always go to Chez Suzette. We have been to Chez Suzette before and love not only the food but the atmosphere. I had the Primavera Crepe, stuffed with tomatoes, onions, zucchini, eggplant and peppers, so delicious! My sister had the warm Goat Salad and soup... More

After an enjoyable walk through Old Montreal, this was the perfect lunch. The Quiche Lorraine was delicious and the French Onion soup was perfect. Be sure to end your meal with a crepe loaded with Nutella, bananas and strawberries. Very friendly and attentive service - in English!

Had a "Laurentian" crepe with asparagus, was nice and savoury. My companion enjoyed her bacon and egg crepe with lovely maple syrup. Overall good service, quality food. We were given an excellent window on the second floor, which gave a definite boost to the overall experience.

We stopped here for lunch in Old Montreal. We made a reservation and lucky we did as there were people waiting out the door. Thought it was small but then was taken up two flights of stairs to a bigger room on the third floor. The crepes were excellent. I had the asparagus and Swiss crepe and we split a... More

Looking for a light lunch; Chez Suzette was perfect! Seated upstairs, nice view of Rue St Paul, and excellent service and food. We shared the Montrealaise (how many different ways can you eat jambon et fromage??) and a salad and (yes!) a couple of glasses of wine. Then our waiter told us that we would also get a dessert crêpe,... More

Tasty selection of drinks and beers, which paired nicely with our crèpes, caesar salad and fondue. Fondue for two was more than three could eat. Olivier was charming, I would go back just for the service!

We stopped in for a late lunch and had a fabulous meal at Creperie Chec Suzette. The Swiss Fondue was delicious with generous serving of bread, diced apples and grapes and we added a vegetable plate as well. The service was attentive, gracious and welcoming and unrushed. We enjoyed lingering over our drink and meal and street watching from this... More

Good for casual lunch. Got seated upstairs - much more seating upstairs than what appears to eye at ground level. Both crepes were good and the dessert crepe was also good.

If you love fondue. They "du" it well. Plus the crepes are great. Onion soup was spectacular. It was a nice little spot to have a casual mean. Not cheap. But would be back.

The place itself is nice: cozy and warm. Service was very friendly. Food was great - lots of choices to make anyone happy. Best of all, they have mulled wine! Yum!

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
