I stopped by Olive & Gourmando to have a coffee and a brownie. Both were excellent. Staff was friendly. Highly recommended for a quick bite or just a coffee.

The breakfast was so good that my wife and I went back the next day on our recent trip to Montreal. Went before it opened and waited in line for a table. Superb fresh food, incredible pastries and great coffee. Quaint atmosphere and wonderful service in Old Montreal! You won't be disappointed!

Great place for brunch, if you don't mind the wait. We had a fun time here sampling a few dishes and loved all of them. The energy in this place was high, service was very good, people were friendly. You can even grab more pastries to go. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Delicious Latte. Fresh squeezed orange juice. Poached egg sandwich. The Ricotta with honey on toast looked amazing. Lively environment. Long waits. All good.

Had a wonderful lunch here. We arrived early at about 11:30 and when we left about an hour plus later, there was a line. I recommend arriving a bit before normal meal hours, because this is one popular place, for good reason. The grilled cheese was amazing, with two kinds of local cheese, a baguette crunchy on the outside, soft... More

I usually don't write reviews but my recent visit to this place made me download the app. As a European I'm not really familiar with the mandatory tipping system in Canada. Today, after a busy sightseeing day, I decided to stop at the Olive&Gourmando. I paid and totally forgot about tips. When I was about to leave, literally I was... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
