Their prices are very reasonable and there's always people eating there. Service was good. The jalebi tasted bitter and had an awful flavour, I had to throw it away after one bite. The rasgolla looked really nice and tasted perfect. The spinach pakora tasted alright but was very dry. Their chutneys (sauces) are really good.

we had gulab-jaman and tea there. it was quite decent. it's a good option to have on Gerrard as there aren't too many places that serve sweets.

Went to Motimahal for the first time today as I was referred by a friend. This is a simple restaurant with a large menu of Indian dishes. There is no waiter service and sort of reminds me of a cafeteria style restaurant. The dishes are fairly priced and quite good. I did find that some of the dishes had a... More

I have been to this Indian restaurant a million times.... love the food. It is sad that I have moved to west end an not able to go there regularly. Nevertheless I do try to visit this place when I am able to.... best Choke bhature Thali And many other finger licking foods

Visited the location on Gerrard street with my partner and family friend. No fuss, family style cafeteria service - very clean. The food was simply amazing, tasty and fresh and true to its culture. Between the tree of us we ordered the Dosa, channa and veggie thali with 3 hearty generous options - but just try to decide. Service was... More

This place seems like a standard McDonalds type take out joint but the food is fantastic and the service is good as well. The fish curry is wonderfully smokey and the butter chicken is the best I have ever had. Channa and deal are 'warm' flavoured and they can accommodate requests fro extra spicy as well. This is my 'of... More

I went to Toronto with my family to explore Indian shops. We reached there during lunch time and decided to eat in Moti Mahal. The food was fantastic and service was good too. Shop owner and workers were really friendly. Every dish we ordered was tasty as we wanted. We would definitely go to this restaurant again when we visit... More

Went back to this place after a longtime and was glad to find out that nothing has changed regarding the taste. The "chana batura" and the "dosas" tasted exactly like we remembered from a decade ago. Indian snacks with very reasonable price. If you are in Gerrard Indian bazaar, then you should try this place out.

I think this is the oldest Indian restaurant in the town maintaining the quality of best food though they have been adding new recipes on the menu but the best still is their Chana-Bhatura and chicken kathi kabab and my wife loves their malai koftas with parantha

Staying in East End

Neighbourhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
