We tried to find this restaurant at this location, but it is no longer there. Nearby establishments suggest that it has been gone for a while now.

This was my first time to the Olde Towne and just a week before Christmas we were Lucky to find a table for a group of 8. I really appreciated the warm and cosy atmosphere of the place and found the menu quite interesting interesting: oysters obviously, 7 appetizers, 5 mains and 4 desserts. Some of us shared oysters. I... More

Being a very cold new year's eve, we decided to stay close to home and dine at a local restaurant. We saw that the Olde Towne Bistro & Oyster Bar was offering a 5-course Prix-fixe for $59. Loving honest bistro cooking, we decided that this would be a good time to check it out as it recently opened. (It was... More

My wife and I enjoyed a lovely prix fixe menu for a New Year's Eve dinner. It was a 5 course menu with two choices per course. The food was excellent but the service needs a little tweaking. The waitress needs a little personality as she was very abrupt. The pacing of the courses could have been better as we... More

Not a common combination but the Olde Towne Bistro & Oyster Bar delivers wonderful dishes made from the best ingredients at a price that is very affordable. We were regular visitors to its previous incarnation as Lucien, but this was our first visit since Simon rebranded his restaurant. Last night my wife and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner and exceptional... More

A small, classy bistro. I like the limited menu (5 main courses) which usually translates to freshly prepared food and this was the case here. I had the duck dish and my friend had the braised beef dish-both were excellent. My friend was pleased with the oysters he had as an appetizer; I was not too keen on my scallops... More

A big change from Lucien, very casual, my partner had lunch there and we decided to have dinner together on a Friday night ! It was very busy, we had a dozen oysters and three small dishes, wine was reasonable , not quite sure why it's called oyster, not that many selections to choose from, I would rather go to... More

I had enjoyed my previous experience here and so last Friday my girlfriend and I decided that we deserved a really nice night out to get away from our busy schedules. The restaurant was quite busy with 2 large parties, however our server was able to find us a spot apart from the action. We had Shrimp Tempura, Seared Scallops,... More

I was there with a group, and a friend had pre-arranged a fixed price menu. The manager said he would send out some oysters for everyone, which ended up on everyone's bill. As well, when I got there and they said would you like some ice water, I said sure, yes still water would be great. They took this to... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
