We chose this restaurant for lunch, as we traveled throughout Peru and love their national cuisine. The restaurant was empty. We had a lunch there on Friday, mid October 2016. The staff was ok, but not extremely friendly, they had some sort of edge to them. What turned me off right away was an USED paper napkin on my table... More

Nice place to dine in normal occasions. The chef-owner is polite and willing to help. The rest of the staff feels the pressure during Salsa On St. Clair festival and mistreat patrons. That is my experience.

I visited Dona Luz because of Salsa on St clair in Toro to. Our kids travelled to be part of the dances. We were on St. Clair for 2 days. The service was horrible. We were charged $10 for our meal and when my daughter went she was charged $15.00 for the exact same meal. When I went to speak... More

We happened upon Dona Luz by accident when looking for a different restaurant. It was a beautiful day and the opportunity to sit outside on a patio at the end of summer was too irresistible to not do. Also, the darling Peruvian woven table covers in all of God's glorious colours drew us in once we got close to the... More

Toronto is such an amazing place to eat, but it is not always that 'easy' to find authentic Peruvian food around here. However, La Cocina de Dona Luz changes everything! A group of friends and I went for dinner there last Saturday and it was so much fun! Nice athmosphere, friendly staff, and plenty of anticuchos and pisco sours to... More

You feel you are seated in someone's kitchen... not a bad feeling, on the contrary... The "Ceviche" is great! the fish is ok...the service is ok... But the pricing is on the slippery slope... this means, when you ask for the fish they inform you it's a little bigger today, an they will have to charge a bit more.... the... More

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
The go-to area for new business start-ups, the spry and creative persona of the West End thrives along its streets. Its independent boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and shops offer brands that can't be found elsewhere. Buildings with ground floor consumer spaces sport up-top artist's lofts, and the West End attracts artists, designers, and fashion industry professionals to its living quarters. It is in the cross-hairs of gentrification, but still resisting it with ironic relish. Hot deals can still be found here on furniture and knick-knacks,. Its call to culinary glory is in its well-priced homemade Polish food, hosting Toronto's go-to spots for hot pierogis and cold borscht. High Park, the largest green space in the city, is a place for dreamers and poets to wander and rest, not to mention a number of energetic actors staging outdoor plays in the summertime.
