Marben is unassuming from the outside. On entering, I was surprised by its relatively small size. This turns out to not be a bad thing, as it serves to make the restaurant have a more intimate feel. The waitstaff were very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the food offerings and were excellent at recommending drinks based on our preferences (they... More

Stopped here on our way to Porter Airlines. Very nice decor was a 20 min walk. The food was great. The fried Cauliflower is a must. I had the burger. Very tasty great fries. Cost wise was a bit high but was not disappointed. cauliflower 13.00. Burger 21.00. Beer standard 8.00. Service was amazing. Hotels was great and gave up... More

The best burger I've ever eaten! You gotta try it... Short rib, aged cheddar and Branston pickle. If you have any English in you, this is your meal.

Dinner for two. Tuesday evening. We arrived around 6 pm and it was quiet though there were a few diners and some post-work drinkers at the bar. We left around 8:30 pm and the crowd was picking up and I can see why. . Marben has a very nice vibe! Space is very cool. Staff were professional but laid back... More

Service was excellent and very friendly. Wine was great. Food was unique, creative and of very high quality. The burrata in particular was excellent. I enjoyed the setting a great deal: lots of warm wood, plush comfortable seating, mood lighting and great music playing at a reasonable volume...the perfect kind of setting for an intimate dinner, or a night out... A pet peeve concerning Charcuterie boards - when there are four people at a table perhaps you could serve four of everything. For the price and the small size of the slices of cheese they could have put 4 pieces of everything on the board. The bread served with the board was amazing. Compliments to the chef for serving the... More

When it comes to comparing how a restaurant describes themselves, and then actually experiencing their cuisine, Marben knocks it out of the park! They focus on Ontario ingredients that are true to the season, and the local farmers and produce. My date had the Board Duo, and I had the burger. Every single item on both plates catered perfectly to... More

My boyfriend and I went to Marben for a nice date night out, and it was absolutely phenomenal. The atmosphere as soon as you walk in is chic, trendy but very cool and laid back. The vibe was great, busy but not crazy loud and you could tell people were having a great night. Our server was wonderful, knowledgeable about... More

I was invited here by two french friends from Toronto, they love food, but when I read this was english style restaurant, I thought how strange, anyway i got there before them and was shown to the table for a pre-dinner drink, the welcome was very friendly and the place is very very stylish yet comfortable. I had the burger,... More

Good food, good decor, good ambiance. friendly staff and delicious food. Went with friends for dinner and we had a good time. The food was very good although the portions seemed a little disproportionate across the menu. I had ordered pork chops and received a generous portion, however, the fish serving in another dish seemed rather small in comparison and... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
