Delicious lunchtime sushi at a reasonable price. We requested one of the booths, which are almost like little private rooms, and they happily accommodated us. Also put back a couple of teapots full of sake - highly recommended!

I've eaten at Kaji, Jabistro and many other high end sushi restaurants. Yumei is on par with all of them from a quality, freshness and quantity standpoint; for a fraction of the cost. Go here, eat amazing sushi and be happy.

This was our second visit, and it won't be our last. This is now our go-to sushi place in Toronto. Great service, excellent food. We had a reservation, thankfully, because it was busy (Friday night).

Probably six or seven plates of food , lots of warm Saki , excellent service , the owner even came to the table , so a dinner for four came to $695.00 , not cheap , but excellent food and we went home full and content.

This is a great, cozy place for any type of meal. I had a business meeting and the booths are small, but nice. The service is great and the prices are very reasonable.

Discovered this place a month ago and have been there at least two-three times per week since. Fresh ingredients can be tasted in every meal. Expert chef lands his talented hands on every menu items. Good customer service. Available for take-out too. I'm very happy with this place as we needed a new Japanese go-to place.

The food was delicious. Prepared very well and platted artistically. They have a very wide selection of traditional Japanese dishes as well as a collection of Korean foods. The sushi and sashimi was very fresh and the portions were large. The price was somewhat high but for how well every dish tasted and looked it was worth it. The servers... More

I have been there for lunch and dinner, and every time I go the food is awesome! That's the place you want to go for true sushi! The place could be more clean, but other wise, a great place!!

Yumei is our "go to" for sushi, either take out or eat in. The food quality is excellent as is the service. The price isn't cheap but you really do get what you pay for. The owner (Young Lee) is always there and very hands on. He probably watches all his staff and ensures good quality fish. It does get... More

Staying in East End

Neighbourhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
