My husband and I went to Sotto Sotto for our anniversary after having heard such wonderful things about it from friends. From the moment we met our waiter, he was cold and appeared annoyed with us. We started by looking at the wine list that was extensive but very very pricey. We finally selected one of the lower priced bottles... More

Visited the restaurant with work colleagues. Setting was nice, if a bit dark. Service was efficient, with a good selection of Italian beers and wines. There were also some IPAs which were excellent. Food was very nice, had Carpaccio starter with added truffle oil, lamb cutlet main - cooked to preference and perfection I might add. Finished with fresh cannolis... More

It was my boyfriend and I anniversary and we thought let's go to Sotto Sotto, we've had couple friends who've gone and liked it. Worst mistake ever! We were seated and as we got not even 2 minutes to look at our menu, the server asks us if we knew what we were ordering. We said give us a few... More

Be sure to book your reservation well in advance. Trust me it's worth the wait. I went with 2 other people and we ordered 5 appetizers and 4 entrees. We couldn't decide because everything looked to delicious, and it was worth every delicious bite. The service is also nothing short of amazing.

Sotto Sotto still does somethings well. Started with a grilled octopus that was wonderfully tender and delicious, probably the best I've ever had. Sadly the whole fish that followed was lacking flavour, and a veal dish that could have used less lemon. Thank God the wine saved us, a glorious Barbera from Braida was exquisite!!!!!!!

We had the whole fish that was de-boned in front of us. Best fish I ever had. Penne was cooked to perfection but the sauce was too watery. Service was good and un-rushed and love the ambiance. Why so many celebrities love this place.

Man this place was tight when we came. We waited 25 min at the front door. Kinda was a pain. But I told my friend to relax you will love the food. So he did 45 min later, we sat in the corner kinda upset but it was worth the wait.

We visited Friday evening and had the semi private dining room. Excellent ambiance and food with very attentive service from Spencer. Am sure he won't forget our English party!

Using only the freshest ingredients Sotto Sotto offers a considerable menu of simple classics and traditional creations. To start there is an abundance of wonderful salads and antipasti. Pastas are available as a second or main course dish. Main courses feature veal, beef, seafood and poultry and there are also "risotto for two" options. We also serve delicious gelati and desserts including homemade tiramisu made in the time honoured traditional style of the Rocca family.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
