Diners appeared to be enjoying food that looked and smelled good, but I came for the karaoke. You can't ask for a better audience --cheers even before you start, go wild if they like your song. DJ's, wait staff, audience all very welcoming and friendly,...More

Visiting Toronto, this restaurant was recommended by a local. Bustling and busy there was a great atmosphere, and the food was very tasty food. Not a huge selection for vegetarians but the meats and shrimp were apparently delicious.

Great atmosphere and good food. Very flavourful. Very nice to eat from plates and metal cutlery instead of the normal styrofoam containers and plaetic forks as there are few and far between West Indian eat-in restaurants.

Worst customer service ever! Girls at the front never take orders properly. Your chicken is dry! Jerk chicken fried chicken...doesn’t matter, it’s dry! Waitresses are full of attitude. Oxtail is hit or miss...inconsistent portions. I have yet to go into this store and they make...More

Compared to some other places in Toronto...The Real Jerk has hospitality on point. The food is delicious! The dumplings with oxtail gravy was a fave and the oxtail dinner is fantastic! It's all good here! Everything!

Description
We have moved to a new location at Gerrard and Carlaw. The Real Jerk is a cultural icon that burst on to the Toronto food scene in 1984. Most new customers are awestruck by the decor which is inspired by beach restaurants in Jamaica, Trinidad, or Cuba. The restaurant had been at its previous location for 24 years and featured a dramatic facade that drew you in and got you hooked on the signature Jerk dishes. As they say at the Real Jerk "we don't just sell food, we celebrate Caribbean culture". Ed and Lilly Pottinger brought their uniquely Caribbean cuisine and widely popular decor to Queen Street East. It has been a mainstay ever since. If your having a special occasion or simply need wholesome comfort food on a cold winter day, the Real Jerk is the place to be. This 80 seat restaurant is also available for theme parties, movie shoots, and catering special events. Simply call to make a reservation.Come and experience what tens of thousands of Torontonians and tourists have already enjoyed over the years.Everything will be irie....
