Enjoyed dinner before going to The Book of Mormon. Food and service were amazing. We had a sampling of a dozen oysters for starters. Lots of sauces/ toppings to choose from , but when they are this fresh, lemon is all you need! The Bahamian chowder was the best chowder I've ever had. Scallops were also tasty. Service was great... We have been looking forward to our visit today to Rodney's for months! We've been twice before with good service. Today the waitress told us the market price for lobster was $28/lb. Only 1.5 lb size were available. So I confirmed before ordering four lobster dinners, "$42 each, correct?" She replied "yes". The bill comes and it's $57 each. She's... More

A family visit and none of us were disappointed. Great food and great people looking after us. It's easy to over cook a shrimp (or prawn in the UK) but they know how to do it right. Regret not having the King Crab, they looked delicious. Coming back here is a no brainer. Easy to get to and even the... More

Our server was incredibly friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about both the menu and wine list and guided us to selections that we loved. We started with a selection of fresh oysters, our server picked out 3 different types for us and they were excellent and different from one another. The oysters come accompanied by a whole array of sauces you... More

OMG - not just by size but particularly by taste!!! If you ever went for crabs then definitely you might have missed this one here! The coincidence of my job does take me around the globe and I indeed enjoy those opportunities for cuisine and delicious dishes. However I post here only the outstanding ones in either direction. And Rodney's... More

This famous place for the best raw bar is wonderful. The oysters are so fresh and the Georges Banks scallops are truly a treat. The cuisine is listed as business casual, but the place is totally casual. Come as you are.

Thank John W

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
