The original owners are gone. The fellow who is the front-end cook is also the waiter. He is not pleasant and the food is not what it was. When I received the bill and paid at the cash register, the same character who was the waiter and cook was the cashier. He gave me no change. I asked where the... More

This was the go to place for BBQ pork place in Chinatown. Since the longtime owner Ping retired it is now terrible. And prices gone up! Service not too good either. Avoid unless 3am in morning after boozing.

If you want to experience one of the last original Chinese greasy spoon on Spadina, you need to go there. The interior is the same since I first visited in 1994 (when it was already old and greasy!). So, it is old, cheap, sticky and greasy but they make great noodle soups and the kitchen stays open super late. You... More

Have been going here for over a decade and it consistently has the best BBQ pork fried rice I have ever had. The pork buns are also to be recommended. Bear in mind, this is not fine dining, this is rough and ready in the heart of Chinatown. Not elegant nor silver service, this is the equivalent of the greasy... More

I have been visiting this restaurant since 2007. Always looked forward to my weekly BBQ pork meal !!! BBQ was at its finest ! Never had a bad BBQ. Even at times I had very greasy part. A few years back, ownership changed. I noticed BBQ pork was no longer tasty. Haven't been there for a while. Last week, a... More

This is by far the worst Chinese restaurant in Chinatown. Not only the customer service is very poor, the food isn't fresh and clean at all. After eating their BBQ pork with rice and seafood fried noodle, my husband and I vomited shortly afterwards. We will never go to this place again. If you want to try Chinese food in... More

Visit this location on Jan 2 2015 and regretted it after the food arrived. Should have realize something was amiss when at prime dinner hour on a Friday evening there was only one table with four patrons. Under normal times the place was at least half full even during off hours. Order my usual roast pork and bean curd, had... More

The food was superb, the service efficient, and of course the price unbelievably reasonable. Try not to use the (scary) washroom though.

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Toronto's main Chinatown has the honor of being the largest in North America. Gaping down across Dundas Street West and Spadina Avenue, the area is a wonderful medley of shops and restaurants, busy signs and bright red gates, a destination for foodie fun. Chinatown's streets are always bustling, packed with people and outdoor stalls hawking fresh produce and products. The restaurants and authentic marketplaces that shoulder in against each other display shining roast ducks and menus studded with dumplings and noodle bowls. The air is pervaded with music. different languages, and the smell of fried food and mouth-watering desserts. Chinatown's restaurants represent a broad range of fare, from traditional Szechuan and Shanghai foods, to other Asian delicacies, including some of the top Japanese, Vietnamese, and Korean spots in the city. Whether you're in the mood for a sit-down tea house or a bubble tea to go, Chinatown is the spot to enjoy an exciting walk and the promise of leaving satisfied.
