Four of us went to Flipper's this evening for dinner. One had been there several times and highly recommended the fish and chips so that is what we all ordered. One trip to the salad bar was included; we all found many items that were fresh and delicious, and we ate everything with gusto. The garlic bread (buns) came in... More

We've been coming here for years. 1980's nautical decor. It's kind of a throwback to restaurants of yesteryear, but that's a good thing. This restaurant makes excellent fish which comes with a complimentary salad bar and scrumptious garlic bread. It's nautical theme, older friendly lovely servers make it such a pleasant evening. This kind of restaurant in a non-descript plaza... More

It is four years since my original review of Flipper's. This was the first time that we went as other than a couple. There were five of us, celebrating a 75th birthday. The prices were still reasonable, The portions were still more than adequate. The food as good as ever. As for the service, it was exceptional. It has been... More

We tried flippers last night for the first time it's was excellent. They use halibut for the fish and chips which is a rare find these days.i had a New York sirloin which was better than the keg. We will definitely be back.

Nothing fancy about Flippers. Decor is dated, however restaurant is clean. The food is delicious, with meals prepared fresh. They start you off with a trip to the salad bar, something that is disappearing in restaurants. At the same time, they bring you fresh garlic bread. We had the house wine which is served in a jug. It was very... More

First and foremost, our table of six received fantastic service. (Thanks Mary!) For apps we ordered the pan fried calamari and a plate of tzatziki with pita bread. Mary also brought over the warm garlic bread that was included with our meals. All three were simply great.... the calamari and garlic bread might be best I have had in a... More

Flipper's is totally old school. If you were a kid in the 70's or 80's and your family ate out this was the kind of place you went. Lobster traps and 70's music. Fish and Chips are the best. Nicest waitress in all of Toronto, Wonderful place to take your Mother she will love it.

My friend recommended this place so we tried. We ordered pork Souvlaki and fried calamari but we find it too tough to chew. The salad at the bar did not taste fresh at all. Servers are very warm and pleasant.

I have dined at Flipper's Fish House and have really enjoyed anything that I have ordered. I especially enjoyed their salad bar. Their food prices are very reasonable.

Nice menu - food is quite good. Service was very good. Prices are excellent. Had sole almondine which was very nice. Hubby's lobster linguine was in a red sauce, okay but not as good. They have a salad bar and the meal includes garlic bread (very good) and starch and a veggy. Don't know of a better value. Will definitely... More

Staying in Scarborough

Neighbourhood Profile
Situated astride Lake Ontario, Scarborough is a district heavily influenced by immigration. With a number of low-rent shopping and dining options making it a highly affordable part of town, and boasting one of Toronto's largest shopping malls, the otherwise green suburban neighborhood is a good place to go for bargains and discounts. It also draws in photographers. The spires, archways, and cavernous rooms of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Palace are filled with breathtaking art, architecture, and detailed reliefs – it’s like entering a different world, The ruins of columns and installation art at the Guild Inn makes a free-for-all exploration site, while the big-name draw for young photographers is the menagerie at the Toronto Zoo. While many visitors shirk Scarborough as too suburban, its houses are some of Toronto's most mystical and haunting architectural beauties. And for adventure lovers, it has river-rafting and some unique hiking trails.
