Went in for a quick lunch, the salad is fantastic! The service at the bar was not that of a 5-star restaurant, but still good. Lunch selection limited, hard to eat here if trying to count calories.

I have been to Canoe perhaps 100 times. This week I requested a mixed green salad to start....something not on their lunch menu. I don't usually expect much with a green salad...l mean, it's a salad! But wow....this one was simply amazing...with the best dressing I have ever had. Will request this again....I cannot say enough about it. Ask for... More

Started with some preseco at the bar followed by a delicious appetizer, both mushroom soup and beetroot salad. My oven roasted halibut was wonderful just lacking a little flavour without the sauce, the strip-loin with blue cheese was flavourful. Washed down with a beautiful 2008 Barolo reserva.

Whenever my wife and I are going to Toronto, we immediately book a table for lunch at the bar at Canoe. The views are spectacular, Jeff is special, and the food and wine consistently excellent. We leave ourselves in Jeff's hands and never regret it. Recently, we were fortunate to be there during Winterlicious and benefitted from the return of... More

Valentines day dinner with the Mrs. The tasting menu looked good but the execution was somewhat lacking. The flavors didn't excite as much as you might expect. The lobster salad was tasty and refreshing but the bison tartare was bland. The sirloin main was great, but the venison and rabbit was plain. Dessert was ok at best. The service was... More

We haven't dined at Canoe in 3 years and felt we were overdue for a revisit, to see if one of Toronto's "old guard", the flagship of the Oliver-Bonacini empire, is still shining in this new era of dining. No surprise, they did not disappoint, and are not resting on previous laurels, they have kept up and will be around... More

We generally take clients here for the view and ambiance and the food is no doubt very good and tasty and well presented however we find that the portions are quite skimpy for the exorbitant prices charged! If it wasn't for the view I do not think it would be on our regular hit list for client nights out.

We were tried to make reservation of winterlicious/summerlicious at Canoe several times, fortunately, 2017 winterlicious opening within one hour we got reservation confirmed. The day was terrible weather with freezing rain, no window view at all. Canoe as expected have great atmosphere, waiter/server are nice and friendly. Each dish will have someone explain what in the dish. One of our... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
