Living in Toronto you tend to stick to restaurants that you're familiar with, but I've decided to change that and start going to new place that have existed for a very very long time!! Like for this place The Vaticano in Yorkville has been around for as long as I can remember. This placed has hosted some of the A... More

I have taken many business Clients (bankers) to Vaticano over the years, always over priced but usually worth it. However my last visit was catostrophic. The lights were so dim we could barely See each other nevermind our paperwork or food... Which should have been a sign AS what was coming.... The service was atrocious. No eye contact, no cheerfulness.... More

We were a group of seven and had a reservation. The setting of this restaurant is quite good with the tables apart enough from each other and no loud music to allow easy conversation. We shared three different bruschettas (plain, with cheese and with mushrooms). All were very good, especially the mushroom one. Some of the entrees we had were... More

Truly lovely and attentive service without being overbearing. Ate from the lunch menu. Soup was hearty and flavourful. Calamari was lovely and fresh. The gnocchi was perfectly cooked in a rich rose sauce, while the funghi pizza was remarkably flavourful. Huge portions! One meal was enough for two...so, we did a lot of sharing. Really reasonably priced. Will be back!

My husband and I, had a lovely dinner here. Pros: atmosphere is great, dimly lit, open doorway, lots of busy tables, not too loud so easy for conversation and pleasant service. Cons: We love fresh pasta, but the food was average. It was good and the pasta dishes met expectations and did not ruin our experience, but it wasn't the... More

Tired place, crazy expensive bottled wine, the house wine is not good at all, main dish was average. I expected so much more after reading the reviews here. Very disappointed. There are many more impressive places within the area that are much higher quality and much better value for the same price.

Large variety Italian menu. Enjoyed the antipesto- great veal scaloppine with shrimps and mushrooms. The veal was tender and the veggies nicely roasted.

We had a nice late afternoon lunch. Most of our party ordered from set lunch menu. The salads, gnocchi rosa, and chicken paillard were good. Ambiance and service were continental.

Vaticano used to be my 'Go To" restaurant with family and friends. I haven't been in a few years. It has reached rock bottom. The food quality is gone and there is no effort made in presentation at all. If you are looking for ambience, forget it. The staff pretty mush tosses dishes on your table without making eye contact.... More

Hello Stella Ann I very disappointed to hear that you have such horrible things to say about Vaticano after many years of not being here. Since Vaticano opened in 2003 we have had the same waiters and staff working for us and a decore which has only been updated (not changed). Our staff are one of the best in the... More

I ordered the Gloria salad and the villeto vaticano. Both dishes were great. I loved the atmosphere and every one enjoyed the food

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
