In the old days this place had top notch food. But last year it wasn't as busy and our large group noticed the food and service had deteriorated. Contacted them to let them know and the owner promised to look into it. Never heard back. Then they had a fire months ago and have yet to re-open. I'm not sure... More

Had dinner there last night - wonderful service and the food was excellent. We had several appetizers (4 seaweed salad, tuna and tofu hotpot) and 2 assorted sushi plates for the main. All was very good. We had the dark chocolate fondue for dessert and it was perfect - light but delicious. The servers were very attentive and I really... More

We went to this location spontaneously and it was almost empty. Food is presented very well, but it's not as tasty as I expected it to be. EDO is also not cheap - so we were a bit disappointed. I used to go to the Spadina location many times in the past. Overall a nice place for business lunch.

Slow Monday night with restaurant almost empty. Took over 20 minutes for first dish to arrive and it was not our appetizer but rather the main. Apologies galore and they bring out our appetizers 5 minutes later which we refused. Slowest service I can ever remember in a restaurant. Took 10 minutes to get a cup of coffee. Place is... More

What makes you drive the Gardiner in summer time? An expiring voucher you paid lots of dough for eons ago and also forgot; that's what! So we took a 5 o'clock reservation and we were probably the first diners in the place. Karen the maitre'd was charming and kindly gave us the "best" table in the place, right by the... More

I was in Edo in Bayview village Toronto. (I didnt find it on Tripadvisor list). Fills like nobody want you there. It was around 8pm Saturday, not crowded at all. We sit our self, then we try to find menu by ourself. 10 min later waiter came, took the order. we never got half of the stuff we ask, even... More

Edo is my main go to sushi place in Toronto. It has good quality sushi. It also serves butterfish which a lot of places do not. The Eglinton location offers a sushi bar while the Bayview Village location does not. They can also deliver but order in advance as delivery can take a long time.

We went to Dinner on a Sunday evening for our Anniversary. We got there early and service was great. The five course summerlicious menu appealed to us and we were not disappointed. The Asian Caesar Salad was amazing as was the sushi dish. Everything was beautifully plated and the chocolate fondue dessert was great as was the sundae. The choice... More

My recent meal at EDO was spectacular in terms of food. The sashimi was unbelievably fresh and the yellowtail tuna tataki with mustard miso sauce has been on my mind ever since. The ultimate basic, the miso soup, was terrific as well, which is always a good sign. There is no doubt that very talented chefs man the kitchen and... More

Because I am a Groupon member otherwise I will never knew about Edo Japanese restaurant. According to my line of thinking, establishments that join this kind of group buy programs are looking to increase their business by reaching out to existing customers and at the same time attracting new ones to showcase their quality products and good value, and if... Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
