This is a family owned and operated restaurant that has been in business for over 20 years in this location, and the service is attentive and friendly. The food is very good in authentic German style. The schnitzels are always excellent with very good red cabbage and sauerkraut and fried potatoes. Although we have been here several times we have... This is a neighborhood gem in Scarborough. If you like schnitzel and beer you have to come here! I believe most of the meals start off with a soup or garden salad. We always get the soup because it's really good. This time we had the cream of vegetable soup and it was so delicious! You are also provided a... More

This is a family operated restaurant - husband, wife, daughter, nephew. The owners have an interesting background being of Indian decent from Germany. They operated a restaurant in Germany. Their experience showed in the varied menu of schnitzel & other German specialities. I started with the soup which was a sort of egg drop. It was very tasty. I had... More

I was really looking forward to trying this little restaurant. The schniztel was fine and lots to choose from, but the spaztle was inedible. I don't know what happened to it, but it had not been freshly made and it smelled like it had been in rancid oil. The chef came out to apologize, which was nice - but he... More

Little Bavaria is the best place for schnitzels and south German food generally that I know. Most of your group had schnitzels of varying description; my wife and I had Rindsrouladen. Mains come complete with soup or salad, potatoes or Spaetzle, red cabbage or sauerkraut, and are very good value. There is a small selection of good German beers. The... More

Whenever I travel to Toronto to visit family, I make a special point of visiting this neighbourhood restaurant. Owned by a family who spent many years in Germany, this unassuming little spot serves up large, delicious portions of German specialties. You won't be disappointed.

Excellent meal overall. Like most german restaurants they serve a salad and rye bread with butter which are ok. But then the main meal comes and it is excellent. The schnitzel was outstanding, huge piece, well cooked and very tasty. The red cabbage was just like my mother used to make it. The spatzel noodles and home fried potatoes are... More

For me,coming from Germany, the owner of this Culinary Heaven Johnny brings a tuch of Germany right into the heart of Scarborough. Check out Oktoberfest, and a definite must during the World Cup of Soccer. The food is to die for,the staff is friendly and professional. Try it you'll like it. Guten Appetit. Your Foody Friend, Chef Paul.

Staying in Scarborough

Neighbourhood Profile
Scarborough
Situated astride Lake Ontario, Scarborough is a district heavily influenced by immigration. With a number of low-rent shopping and dining options making it a highly affordable part of town, and boasting one of Toronto's largest shopping malls, the otherwise green suburban neighborhood is a good place to go for bargains and discounts. It also draws in photographers. The spires, archways, and cavernous rooms of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Palace are filled with breathtaking art, architecture, and detailed reliefs – it’s like entering a different world, The ruins of columns and installation art at the Guild Inn makes a free-for-all exploration site, while the big-name draw for young photographers is the menagerie at the Toronto Zoo. While many visitors shirk Scarborough as too suburban, its houses are some of Toronto's most mystical and haunting architectural beauties. And for adventure lovers, it has river-rafting and some unique hiking trails.
