This pleasant mid-town Toronto pub does not have a particularly strong kitchen. The fish and chips at lunch is long on French fries and short in terms of actual fish. The Cobb salad was pretty average. Service was efficient but not exactly warm. In short, the place really has little to recommend it, other than location.

Good spot to spend a winters night. Great service, comfortable setting and solid food makes this pub a Yonge and St. Clair hot spot.

Love this Pub. Best salads around. I think their cobb salad is the best in the city.Great choice of ales and well priced wines by the glass. Super spot for lunch or dinner. The fish and chips is also a great choice. Friendly service and always welcoming.

Neighbourhood friends have had lots of good things to say, so finally tried it out. I have to say it was 'average' at best, with the server being the best thing about it. Mussels in a green curry sauce were tiny and tired - a better restaurant would have taken them off the menu if that was the best quality... More

This place is fab - the staff are so friendly and the food is fantastic. Try the Mac and cheese with added stilton! Good range of drinks too and reasonably priced. Such a warm atmosphere in here.

On the outside it looks like nothing special, but once you sit down, look at the menu and sip one of their many well chosen beers you know you stumbled into the right place. The pub has a pleasant atmosphere, the service is first rate and the menu is actually one of the most exciting parts of the experience. It... More

Behind an unimpressive, nondescript facade on Yonge Street above Summerhill and inside a grubby-looking pub decor on the main floor lies an opportunity for excellently-prepared dishes and a wide selection of beers. The menu is varied and interesting. Dishes are imaginative and contain many surprises well beyond anything usually available in a neighborhood pub. My burger (bun deferred) was solid... More

My wife and my two lads (14-11) popped in for lunch while in TO. The food was authentic, the beer was cold and the atmosphere is fantastic. I'd like to be there in the evening for pints with my mates! 👍👍🍻

The ambiance in this place has changed since its inception… and it’s much better. However, they could put up the lighting a little bit... I’d stayed away, not realizing… and then chanced to give it another go. Perhaps it’s what seems like a stronger feminine presence in management and among servers that makes it more comfortable. Also, food has improved.... More

Lots going on in summer on the amble from Sporting Life to Rosedale. The Monk's Table seemed like a nice pit stop. I went once before and this experience was as I remembered. Laid back, pleasant and welcoming ambience (open front, 90s sound track) and service. Top notch pub lunch food ("fried chicken sandwich" and salad) with a cold beer.... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
