It really doesn't matter what you buy from them, it will ALL be very rich and tasty. I've had their amazing cherry, peach, peach and raspberry, apricot and apple pies and they were AMAZING!!! WARNING!!!....The chocolate tarts are divinely addictive!!

I recently moved into the neighbourhood and discovered the Flaky Tart. I've been there on several different occasions and everything was always delicious, and not expensive. Have tried Cookie Jason's Fave (also my fave! Delicious choc chip cookie!), several fruit pies (all great!) and the quiche, which was also very nice. highly recommended. :)

Tough to find high quality nut-free bakeries anywhere. I'd come here even if it wasn't nut-free - it's just incredible. I've tried many items here, and all are best in class. The tarts are exceptional, but so are the caramel blondies and brownies. Thanks Flaky Tart for being so awesome.

Not only is the owner/chef the nicest and cutest woman you'll ever meet, but she bakes like a pro and her prices are fair. I've had her macaroons, her cookies, her pies and her sheppards pie and they're all amazing. It's a bit pricey though,

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
The North End is a nucleus of specialty food restaurants and shops, especially around its Mount Pleasant Village area. Frequented by antiquers for its numerous collectable shops, furniture spots, and oddity stores, the North End is a maverick of the quaint and quality. Vintage toy stores, accessory shops, and cinemas welcome perusers to step back in time, while the wide pedestrian squares and the large medical and business community inject it with a dose of modernity. With numerous cafes and Toronto's greatest number of independent booksellers, it isn't uncommon to see folks in this area at their leisure, reading outdoors and in eateries, and taking life a bit more slowly – even if it's only during their lunch break.
