Took my wife here for lunch because the menu looked good. We sat in the back patio on a beautiful afternoon. We loved our lunches of fish and beef. We thought the taste and presentation of the food was excellent. Super happy we found this places. By the way, the patio is great if you have a child as they... More

Last night wanted to enjoy a nice Portuguese meal and as this place had some fair reviews decided to give it a whirl. The dining area was cozy and the back patio which was a fair size and covered in lovely grape vines hanging with delicious looking bunches of grapes was cluttered with all sorts of toys making it difficult... As good as restaurants in Lisbon, my husband is Portuguese and it was as if his mom prepared the meal. Fresh, healthy, reasonably priced!

A small family-run place, Perla has authentic and very tasty Portuguese food. Fresh fish and seafood is a highlight. My sea bass was outstanding. The homemade chorizo was also amazing. Everything is made by Mama in the kitchen. Very reasonably priced for the area as well.

A wonderful family restaurant. Non- pretentious but excellent food. Appetizer garlic shrimp and speciality clams portions a bit small but good. Octopus appetizer perfectly grilled and tender and lots of good bread. Main courses were fabulous. Very good portions for the price. We had grilled salt cod and grilled sea bass (a special of the day, and there were many).... More

nice service in warm room.mommas behind the stove with cooking that's behind the times.grilled jumbo shrimp are not that jumbo, and seem boiled in a limpid sauce.clams were not the freshest, and lacked any flavour.fresh grilled grouper was good for the price, but the sides were old school.many wines not available.

We came upon Perla by accident but it turned out to be a great find! The food and the service were fantastic, and it has an amazing old world atmosphere. It reminded both of us of dining in Europe, where the customers are locals and the food is so fresh. The portions are very large but you have to save... More

Having spent a lot of tme in Portugal we were really happy to find Perla. A very authentic Portugese restaurant with a diverse menu at reasonable prices. The staff make you feel very welcome. Service takes alittle longer than the average restaurant but thats because every thing is made fresh. Definitely one of our favourite restaurants.

Staying in Little Italy

Neighbourhood Profile
Little Italy
Toronto's Little Italy is a city hotspot for cafe culture and nightlife. There's something for everyone in Little Italy, apparent from the cross-section of clubbers in glitzy dresses, and elderly couples arm-in-arm heading to their favorite wine or pasta spot. Cafes spill onto the wide sidewalks, pool lounges and bars are always teeming with noise and activity, and both outdoor and indoor marketplaces are packed with fresh fish, cured meats, and pungent cheeses. All of the activity makes it a perfect spot for people-watching, especially over a nice glass of red wine or a quick and sumptuous slice of pizza at one of the many eateries or trattorias in the area.
