I went to Lamesa with a group on Sunday night for the Kamayan experience. We were all very excited and intrigued to try this, as it was a first time for all of us. We all chatted about what it would be like, wondering how we'd manage to eat (the rice, especially) without utensils. It was much easier than I... More

I had a great experience here! The hosts and waiter were so friendly and helpful as this was my first time having Filipino food and I needed help navigating the menu. We went with a traditional Filipino meal for dinner and man, it was so good. The tuna avocado appetizer, the garlic rice, the chicken adobo and the culliflower (sp?)... More

I am not going to deny that the food tasted good and the presentation was really well done. The ambiance is cosy with the rustic wooden furniture and murals. Especially with the Ube desert. But what was lacking was the authentic taste of the Filipino cuisine. I felt it was way too westernized. I understand that it is a challenge... More

We had the 11 course tasting menu, which was outstanding. Each dish was explained on presentation, and one of our dining companions is Filipina who assured us the food was authentic. While each course was small, as you'd expect from a tasting menu, we were all definitely full by the end. However, if you require a good wine selection, you'll... More

What a wonderful restaurant!! Food was above-average, presentation was lovely. Decor and atmosphere were great (warm and welcoming) with great lighting. Loved that there was Filipino music playing. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Came for dinner on a Wednesday night and decided to the their chef's 5-course chef's choice (which was on special that night). Every dish was delicious – the portions were generous and the flavours were vibrant and complex. The service was also excellent – the staff were very accommodating to some dietary restrictions and were very happy to explain each... More

On my first evening in Toronto, I ended up at Lamesa. I never had Filipino food before so I cannot compare but I can say that it was very tasty. I had the beef which was not an over implicated dish with lots of ingredients going on but just pure and honest tastes, I did take a side dish of... More

On our first night in Toronto we were walking up and down Queen St West and came upon Lamesa. We shared the tuna starter (not to our tastes but we thought we'd give it a go!) and then shared the pork and chicken main courses, with a side of noodles and rice. Wow, they were absolutely fantastic, probably some of... More

As many Sundays, my wife and I were walking downtown, looking for a new and original place to have a brunch! We passed by this restaurant and we've had a good surprise. Brunch was to die for, the service was incredible! Kudos to the crew today. We are now looking forward to back there for dinner - we looked at... More
