While on a walking/shopping adventure we stumbled across this quaint gem tucked away. We slid in for breakfast just as they opened at 10 am and quickly found the place filling up as others already knew what we were about to find out. The food and staff were extremely impressive. The food was cooked perfectly and I realize this is... More

In town for a few days and we adopted this as our local pub right across the street from the Hazelton. Great bar snacks, good variety of beers and wines and a superb ambience at all the times of day which we visited. Given we were there just about every day we stayed I think that is testament to it.... More

I often come to the Oxley for drinks, but recently I tried their brunch and I wanted to write a review to commend them on the versatility of their menu (and pub itself). I've always received great service there, and the food and drinks are tasty. I would recommend sitting upstairs if possible, as it's more quaint.

The Oxley is my "go-to" spot in Toronto as it is an excellent smart-casual, gastro-pub type place. I absolutely love how it's sophisticated in casual way without Yorkville pretentiousness. Love this place for grabbing drinks with people, casual fare and brunches. Great service from all staff in the several times I have been there. Any dish that involves french fries... More

My husband and I wandered in to Oxley for a "quick" cocktail and stayed the night. It was crowed yet comfortable, wonderful attentive staff. We met very friendly locals eager to talk and give us tips on city highlights. As for food, we had the fish and chips which were delicious and each of us tried local (hand drawn) beer.... More

Good atmosphere, good service, better than average pub food. Lunched there with a girlfriend today. Had made a request for a quiet table so I could see her photos from India. Great corner table, and the noise level wasn't loud. Do not expect that during the evenings and weekend, but, hey, you don't go there just to eat then! My... More

I choose to try the Sunday roast with Yorkshire pudding a tradition in London. I was very pleased with the result as the portion was enough to share with my wife. We had asked for medium but it was a bit on the rare side which did not bother me however my wife was not as pleased. Great service .... More

I was meeting my cousin in Toronto and she selected The Oxley since it was convenient to where I was staying. The atmosphere and service was wonderful, but I felt it was a little pricey for what you get. I ordered their quiche (spinach, goat cheese) which was served with a small Young Leaves Salad ($14.00). It was a smaller... More

The selection is small for lunch, not sure how extensive the menu is, but the waitress was very nice and understanding, we had stepped out of a meeting for a quick bite and shared the fish and chips. The fish was very bland and a bit oily for my liking, but some people enjoy that, decent beer selection.

In town from New Orleans for a friend's daughter's wedding. Did a cyber-scan and came up with the Oxley. It was just as I hoped, warm & cozy atmosphere, excellent and large beers, and a robust burger & fries (along with many other items). I had a lot of outstanding fancy food (3 dinners, 2 breakfasts, 1 lunch) associated with... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
