I liked the feel of this place but was a little disappointed with food. In fairness it wasn't expensive but it was still just 'ok'. I wouldn't return to eat but I would for drinks.

We go here often but I always have the same thing (tacos). Not so, this past weekend. I had the Pacific Junction Burger on lettuce not a bun. Wow was it good with just the right amount of spice. I highly recommend it! And you know I'll be back again. Service was excellent again.

Happened upon this spot a year ago and stopped in to find a packed house. The restaurant has its own radio station Girth Radio..how awesome is that? And loved the tunes being cranked out. They found a table for us tucked in a nook in the back away from the bar area. The walls, furniture, decor are all upcycled items... More

Had a great lunch and must recommend the chimmichurri tacos - absolooooootely delicious and more than enough choice beers on tap to help wash them down! 3 tacos per serving and the fish tacos are good as well. Be prepared for a louder atmosphere with lots of vibrancy and eclectic surroundings. Well worth a visit for a bite to eat... More

Seven of us met here for dinner and drinks. The place is very different and has a very cool vibe. I tried the Brimstone Stout (they were out of Murphy's which was too bad) and had the jerk chicken tacos which were excellent and had just enough spice. The place was fairly busy for a Monday night and the service... More

We were two people in for a quick dinner. We had a fish taco and a jerk chicken taco. The waitress recommended tacos because they are known for them. She was right on. So delicious, could be a little spicy for some people. I loved it! Add a nice cold beer and it was a delightful meal. Music was a... More

Some friends and I picked this spot for a birthday get together. We arrived, what we thought was, early but the place was already jam packed. The waitress was nice enough to set us up by the buck hunter game and the drinks started to flow. The crowd was really diverse. Some judgy douche bags, a guy in full traditional... More

Was supposed to me a small gruop but I think in the end we managed to fill the place up. Very good place indeed. Various games like table tennis, pool and real ice hockey. Some video games as well. Of course there was beer, beer and more beer. I was not impressed with my hamburger with cheese in the middle,... More

The food at this restaurant was very good, and we really liked the rustic decor. We had a reserved area in the back of the hotel which was above the "smoker's courtyard", with the windows open the smoke blew right in while we were eating, gross. But other than that experience (solved by shutting the windows) it was a good... More

Need I say more? (I have to because of the min 50 character rule, haha, but this place was very friendly, cute kinda tiki vibe going on, loved the whiskey-ginger-sour in a mason jar)

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
