Solid meal, dropped by early on a Friday evening for a bite with a friend. Both went with meatloaf, I had slaw and mashed potatoes with gravy. She had two veggie sides. Meatloaf was delicious, very moist and lots of flavor, had a nice red sauce with it. Potatoes were great and the gravy was pretty good, my guess it... More

After dinner we headed to Futures for the cheesecake. Realized once we got there that much more than cheesecake was on offer. If you're ready for a serious dose of sweetness, this place will deliver it. It has a young, hip, student vibe with a bar/restaurant also part of the same property.

If you have not been to Future, hop in your time machine and get a move on! Great little spot in the city, yummy cakes and a very wide selection too. Your hips won't thank you but your stomach will. Also serves great brunch, lunches, dinner and lots of specials such as all you can eat perogies on a Wed.... More

We have brought guests from out of town here for dessert. It's a nice neighbourhood to see at night and the selection of cakes is pretty good.

Great patio and friendly atmosphere in the Annex. The menu has many good choices, healthy options, breakfast all day served, and excellent prices. I ordered the soup of the day combo with the house salad, and my husband ordered sausages, sauerkraut and mashed potatoes, family style dishes and homemade feeling. For dessert they have many pies and cakes, we have... More

The perogies and the Cabbage Rolls are both great and the... More

The interior is dark and frankly, in need of a revamp. The toilets in particular have much to improve, but the sun was shining and the patio giving a nice protection and the possibility of seeing the city go by. Both the egg Benedict with salmon and the potato pancakes were good, as the side potatoes, but decidedly average. The... More

Sunday of Victoria Day weekend - visiting Toronto after not having been for a number of years. Future Bakery on Queen Street and Bloor West Village where favorite breakfast spots back when we lived in Toronto. Visiting this weekend, we wanted to eat there again albeit in this new location. To say the food was mediocre would be giving it... More

Well visiting the University we walked by this restaurant and decided to check it out. The food was fresh and well prepared. We could not eat any of the desserts or breads but they looked great. It was a young, hip and diverse clientele. The food was reasonably priced. The atmosphere for seating was very casual, with very simple wood... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
