Best I've had in Canada, the value is great as you get a huge portion and the quality is also perfect.

Schnitzel Queen moved down the street from a location that was in a less desirable area, the food was good but not the location. They have relocated to a far better storefront on Queen opposites Moss Park. I have been in the restaurant as he pounds out the veal into thin slabs. It is mmm good so I took lunch... More

Huge pork or chicken schnitzels served as sandwiches or platters. Warning, only takes Canadian debit cards or cash. No US cards for some reason. Fortunately, the courteous owner gave us a reasonable exchange on our US$.

This place is amazing, the food is excellent and the guys running the place are really great. You have to try the gourmet schnitzel, it is out of this world.

I go here at least twice a month, and have the schnitzel dinner. Choice of chicken or pork, and full size or junior size. I warn you the full size, is the size of the plate. Comes with sauerkraut and potato salad , which is close to the best PS I ever had, lotsa dill. All prices taxes included.

OK. The location is not ideal but the schnitzel is amazing. We had the junior pork and chicken. Yes, you can hear the meat being pounded and yes, it was as fabulous as everyone else says. Still it was too much for me. Comes with a very good potato salad and sauerkraut if you order the schnitzel plates. You can... More

After a disappointing and overpriced schnitzel experience at Hunagrian Country Style, we were pining for a really good schnitzel. What a relief to find this place. It's cheap, simple, outstanding food in a humble location. The location, as others have said, is not the most heartening. A lot of people in this neighborhood, whose rapid gentrification only accentuates its poverty,... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
