Good food, low key, good beer list and decent wines. Staff is wonderful. This ain't fancy - its just really good. Patio is a good size and shaded for hot summer days.

This cute little pub is casual and sends great vibes for an afternoon bite and pint. Natural lighting, fresh food and great staff!

My husband & I headed here for dinner before a concert, so it was an early visit, just before 5 pm. This is the transition time from their lunch to dinner menu. There isn't a vast difference between the two, maybe a steak sandwich vs. the steak dinner. We wanted to try it all, so we had the jerk wings... More

This very casual and unassuming place serves up great affordable food. I'm yet to have a bad meal there. Friendly staff. I have heard that many business deals have happened there.

OMG... best hot sauce ever!!! The food is amazing, and the service is wonderful... but the hot sauce condiment is the best ever. I travel from Saskatchewan, and make a special trip to this place (it's a few KM from downtown) because it's so crazy good. Thanks for everything, and keep making this sauce!

Just kidding - this is a great spot! An Old York has been in this location for years, but this version has been upgraded in a huge way. We were early for our reservation next door at Edulis and THEY suggested hanging out at Old York - which is a terrific recommendation…..I'd definitely go go there again.

My friend & I stopped in here for a late breakfast/early lunch on Saturday. It was busy-ish, but still some seating available. We chose to sit at the bar, despite a table or two being available. We wanted some space around us, as the tables are very close together. My friend ordered the eggs benny and I ordered the sausage... More

Having given up on the Foggy Dew down the street, we decided to give the Old York a try for brunch; we were very glad that we did. The patio area, although not large, is lovely: removed from traffic and surrounded by flower boxes. Our server was friendly, pleasant, and quick. I had the pain perdu, which is french toast... More

My sister and I were visiting the old neighborhood today, and stopped for lunch near the old Niagara school we went to 50 years ago. The neighborhood has changed for the better although still evolving. This grill was not much to look at but the food was excellent pub grub. We had the house wine, the roasted chicken sandwiches and... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Queen Street and West Queen West
Known as the Art & Design District, West Queen West is one of the most energetic and dynamic of Toronto's neighborhoods. Along with its great modernist museums, clubs, and restaurants, it's home to some of the funkiest specialty shops, ranging from clothing to stationary to collectables, and caters to niche and vintage shoppers of all kinds. That makes it a mecca for creatives, including hobbyists designers, writers, and painters. With ink on their hands and fabric pelts in their bags, visitors to Queen Street traverse the avant-garde blend of historic architecture and ultra-contemporary fare. Home to some of Toronto's chicest hotels and most modish java fixes, busy with street cars, and always suffused with live music drifting onto packed patios at bars and clubs by nightfall, the vibrancy of West Queen West is undeniable.
