Noisy. Japanese style decor. Outstanding fish both as sashimi as well as grilled. Many different specials imported from Japan. Extensive saki menu. Recommended.

As a Japanese person, I was so shocked to see how they made me feel like that I was back in Japan. All the staff are Japanese and it is one of the few places that are run by real Japanese people. The background music was a bit too Japanese (we may not play this kind of old instruments in... More

I went there with my partner on a cold Saturday night. Knowing it was going to be busy, we made a reservation on line on their website. It was a good thing since it was already packed by the time we got there. The food was excellent (we had the seafood salad, benito takaki, egg plant, grilled salmon fish, chicken... More

Food: Has authentic Japanese taste. Serving size is just right. Quality and food presentation are alright. Value for money! Very affordable. Relaxed atmosphere for our 2:45pm lunch. Service is warm, polite and friendly.

I have been here a few times for small gatherings or big parties. Izakayas are usually in a loud setting hence a good place for gatherings but if you do not like loud and crowded settings for family dinners, this might not be the place. The food come in small portions but I love the food here and it is... More

First time trying this restaurant. Made a reservation Friday evening to celebrate my friend's birthday. We were greeted and seated right away on the hightop tables. The restaurant was simple but lovely. It looked very well kept and clean including the washrooms - which is a definite plus. After much time deciding what to eat we ordered: 1) Fin's Seafood... They are very attentive and their food is great! It is a nice place that I will drop by sometimes. The portion maybe small but you can try different dishes at once. This is a real Japanese place you should go try!

I love the atmosphere, a real Japanese restaurant managed by Japanese. Located near Eglinton, very close to the subway station. Price is not really expensive.

I used to work in the area so I made regular trips to Fin. The service is great, the food is amazing and the ambiance is less loud that a typical Izakaya in Toronto. The food is also fairly priced. Highly recommended!

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
The North End is a nucleus of specialty food restaurants and shops, especially around its Mount Pleasant Village area. Frequented by antiquers for its numerous collectable shops, furniture spots, and oddity stores, the North End is a maverick of the quaint and quality. Vintage toy stores, accessory shops, and cinemas welcome perusers to step back in time, while the wide pedestrian squares and the large medical and business community inject it with a dose of modernity. With numerous cafes and Toronto's greatest number of independent booksellers, it isn't uncommon to see folks in this area at their leisure, reading outdoors and in eateries, and taking life a bit more slowly – even if it's only during their lunch break.
