Great place to go for tapas, very tasty cuisine, excellent atmosphere, perfect people serving you. Don't miss this place if you are up for some tapas, and one of the best places to grab a double espresso (it's so good that you would love to get another one)

Perfect place to start the night with a good glass of red wine and dishes to share. After dinner you have the whole of Ossington at your feet to bar hop!

My companion and I dined at Salt on a busy Friday night. Tables are close together, but conversation was not impacted. We ordered Mexican Standoffs and they were the highlight of the evening. This is a great drink! Additionally, we had the grilled sardines, the sea bream ceviche, the heirloom tomatoes, the grilled asparagus, and the patatas bravas. Everything was... More

I came with a couple of friends to celebrate. As I arrived early straight off an airplane, I had a few minutes to get settled. I sat at the bar and started off my weekend w a cedar smoked old fashioned. That was a remarkable drink! Highly recommend if you like a good old fashioned - and appreciate a smoky... More

I went to Salt while visiting my daughter in Toronto and we love dining out and trying great restaurants. When you enter the restaurant you feel you are in a cozy warm space with ambiance that may be from the hundreds of wine bottles on shelves all around the restaurant. The " tapas" are generous portions and we shared 5... More

Duck confit, BBQ back ribs, sea bream saviche, and dark chocolate desert were among the yummy dishes we shared last night. The service was great. The restaurant is nice but by 10:30pm on Saturday night most of the tables were empty. So no bar scene or fun after the kitchen closed.

First, will admit I am very familiar with the wines that were served (Fita Preta from Portugal). But still have to say that the food pairings were amazing. Each flight was better than the last. The pork belly was crispy and delicious. So was the bream carpaccio. Did not leave anything on any of the plates. Kudos to the kitchen... More

Two friends and I went to Salt last year for their autumn menu. First off, I absolutely LOVE restaurants with seasonal menus, so I was pleased from the start. Three of us shared all six plates we ordered. (We were hungry!) Chef Dave Kemp managed to combine many flavours and textures without overdoing it. The angus steak tartare with quail... More

They are rightfully confident of their wine. Meat dishes were prepared well. All courses, including the coffee with desert were prepared perfectly. I will sure go a visit.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
