I really enjoyed the Pork Tacos and Caesar Salad and my guest enjoyed the Mac and Cheese, however her green side salad was exceptionally spicy (after bite with lots of heat) and was not enjoyed at all and she could not eat it--even the server was surprised that it was spicy --should not have been and he did not deduct... There are now several O & B restaurants around the GTA and all are excellent. We chose to one at Front and Yonge because of its convenient location and the fact that it opened at 10:00 am on a Sunday. The brunch plates were surprisingly inexpensive and the quality of the food and service were very good. The waiter even... More

Perhaps it was just because we were the first to arrive for the evening sitting, but we noticed that even as the room filled, staff didn't stuff all the people close to one another. They tried their best to give everybody some privacy and spread people out. This should be the priority in every seated restaurant - and too often... More

It was OK. Food was good. Beautiful presentation. Menu lacked creativity for Downtown Toronto. Well run place for a decent meal but doesn't really set itself apart.

Great dinner. I was there with a large group but the service remained personalized and attentive. Great experience. The food was great, wine list is comprehensive. I will definitely return.

A close walk from the Sony Centre which was nice. Seated promptly even though we did not have a reservation. Our server was friendly and attentive. The salad was the first to come. I am a huge lover of salads. I chose the spinach which was on the small side and hugely over salted. I could barely taste the spinach... More

We had brunch on Saturday. Good choices on the menu. I had the poached eggs on a cheddar biscuit with smoked salmon. Not sure about the cheddar with the salmon and the eggs were a bit overcooked but the salmon was lovely. There could have been a bit more carmelized onion on the home fries which were not crisped up... More

I was looking to make a reservation near the Air Canada Centre (ACC) but unable to find a table and accidentially came across Oliver & Bonacini. Its walking distance to the ACC and I am so happy I came across this. Restaurant has great selection, ambiance and price. I went here with some clients before a hockey game for dinner... More

We were seated promptly in a fairly quiet area of this fairly large modern, clean, well appointed establishment. Wait Staff was attentive and professional. We enjoyed a glass of wine while waiting for our entre. Also shared a tasty Caesar Salad. Both of our Pasta selections met the mark. Our main courses were brought to the table hot, great flavour... We went to this restaurant prior to visiting the Sony Centre on Friday evening. The waiter came over and introduced the specials. We really enjoyed the crusted pickerel on a ratatouille base. It was delicious, hot and moist. However, we did not get our bread or water that we asked for and we could not find our waiter for a... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
