We suggest Nota Bene to friends because we often pop in before the ballet for a prix fixe. But be warned, of how expensive this restaurant is. Because the lobster appetizer is $29 , we split it. Usually I order it but I must admit Last night, I found it slightly disappointing this time, the buttermilk dressing was slightly off... More

I had the truffled pasta dish and the date pudding dessert, both very good. The french speaking waitress was kind and efficient and gave me good advice. The bill was not cheap but not outrageous. I will go back there when next in Toronto.

We went there for winterlicious and food was ok and we just order normal water. At the end I was charged for 5 glasses of water!! During the service, the waiter just keep on top up my glass even it was not full. When I asked about the charge, he said that if I order chicken I should pay for... More

Pleasant service, some good food, but more misses than hits so to speak. Sashimi starter was bland, calestri bolognese was flavourful and fabulous, clementine sorbet was underwhelming. I tried one cocktail (which wasn't great), and one recommended wine (a great local Ontario wine). The downstairs view onto the seedy end of queen street isn't exactly desirable. The service is pleasant... More

We were a large group and seated in the centre of the restaurant, which is very open plan. Noise carries. As the evening wore on I was almost shouting to be heard by the person across the table, and had trouble hearing anything they said back. I was facing the kitchen which is of the style where you can watch... More

The restaurant is very nice. I would recommend the upper floor for dining, perhaps by the kitchen. Tuna tartare was very nice, loved the scotch bonnet sauce served with. The pasta with truffle was delicious. The ragu with rabbit very nice. The 40 dollar bottle of white wine was crisp and very good. They have an extensive wine list .... More

My wife and I recently had dinner at Note Bene with another couple during Winterlicious. It was the first time any of us had eaten there and given its reputation, we had high hopes. Dinner was good and service was attentive and professional. 3 thumbs up for the Salmon Tartare appetizer. The Quebec Venison Foie Gras Terrine was very good.... More

First time I went I really enjoyed it but largely due to atmosphere. Have been back a few times because it is convenient to my office. Food is good. But for prices I would expect great. Also went with a friend one day after work and ordered a martini. Can't recall exact price but it was over $20. Having said... More

I visited Nota Bene in January 2017 and participated in the Winterlicious menu. Unfortunately, I found the food and restaurant quite uninspired. For an establishment that claims to be a great restaurant (our waiter greeted us with this statement) the ambiance is boring. There is no artwork, only tumbleweed haphazardly hanging from the ceiling. Our table did not have a... More

Last night we celebrated our wedding dinner at Nota Bene. The service level is among the best we have had anywhere. All of the wait staff as well as the sommelier were extremely knowledgeable and seemed to really enjoy their jobs. Food was excellent.
