We visited after a friend's recommendation.Under whelming entrance but cosy and friendly interior. Dinner without a reservation - popular at lunch times due to local offices. Great salads, pizza and pasta menu with a few other specials. Short basic wine list - with one premium wine on it. Friendly server. Very enjoyable meal and thoroughly recommend for a great, no... I work in the area so I'm here pretty often and am never disappointed. The pizza is my favourite but I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. Definitely recommend this place! All the servers are dolls too, very attentive and super nice. They also have a great little patio in the summer that we like... More

Mangia & Bevia is an assuming spot - hidden away on the main floor of a rather uninspiring office building and modest decor with worn wooden floors and older wooden tables and chairs. But don't let this fool you. The restaurant serves up hearty Italian fare including pizzas, paninis (which are massive) and very good pasta dishes. I ordered the... More

This restaurant offers artisan pizzas and pasta in a rustic yet refined atmosphere. Ordered a charcuterie board along with one of their pizzas. Was plenty to share between three people. The charcuterie was exceptional. Don't forget to ask for the chilies to go with the pizza, they bring three kinds to choose from, one being their in house concoction. Delish!... More

Take note of the address and location info as it is not visible from King street. Descent casual atmosphere, not a quiet romantic setting, but not too loud either. Server was great, juggled numerous tables efficiently, politely and professionally. Antipasto board was very good, really liked the Apple Maple butter, it was a nice surprise. Neapolitan style pizzas were good.... More

This was a surprise as the location on a dark street and the very modest entryway belied the interior and the lovely meal. My pasta dish was delicious and my husband had boar...quite adventurous but again, a lovely meal. The service was efficient and friendly....definitely worth a visit!

We popped in for a quick dinner before a concert, and were thoroughly impressed with both the food and service. Their claim of making the best pizza in Toronto is backed up by excellent homemade dough, thin crusts, a wide variety of interesting toppings, and overall delicious food. I like that the one-size pizzas are just over 12" - two... More

Simple ingredients prepared well is the best of Italian cooking. Pizzas are thin with amazing crust. Salads are full of fresh greens. Pasta is heavenly, particularly the four cheese. Place is a little hard to find but has lovely out door spot in summer. Staf are genuine and many have Italian accents. Been coming for years. In a city filled... More

We went to this restaurant to celebrate my son-in-law's 40th birthday in April. The dinner menu is very basic with salad, pasta and pizza as your choices. There are no meat dishes. However the food was excellent. The pizza was homemade and better than some of the pizza I had in Italy. Since we were such a large group they... More

We had a family dinner here before a theatre show and I was really surprised by how good the food was. The atmosphere is pretty cool and has some tables with benches for larger groups. I had a pasta dish which was VERY good, and my wife had pizza which was also amazing. Highly recommend this place for groups and/or... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
