I just love this place. Every trip to Ottawa includes this bakery. Very slow in the winter months compared to the summer, but everything was just great! Love the chocolate Danish and the café au lait!

Quiche's were very good as we picked up the veggie and Loraine. Aswell as the croissant stuff with ham and drizzled with cheese sauce (bechamel and cheese)- make sure you know that it needs to be heated before consumption. Purchased some cookies and treats as there is a huge selection for every palate. Very busy so they must be doing... More

The Obama-themed cookie display inside the doors screams "tourist trap". Apple strudel was mouldy. Was replaced by a Black Forest danish which was quite tasty, but couldn't shake that initial "ick".

Hard to get a decent croissant in this city - or anywhere outside Paris for that matter. But they're darn good here.

Located in the Byward Market, it has everything to be a tourist trap and it is to some extent. However, if you're looking to have a quick breakfast or a coffee, it may be a good option. Know what to pick and you'll be fine.

Our group of travellers (6 adults and 6 kids - all under 6 years old) ventured into the Le Moulin de Provence on a cold, January Monday evening after having dinner down the street. The Moulin is a French boulangerie/patisserie or bakery that anchors the central venue in the historic Byward Market, steps from Parliament Hill in our nations capital.... More

Plan your trip when the bakers just been in otherwise count on stale baked goods. Only resort to paninis in times of desperation. They're dry, flavourless and hard to swallow. I've never been so bold as to try anything other than the turkey for fear that seafood's been out a while. Go to subway instead.

We wanted some pastries with good coffee for a cold morning... We stopped at the By Ward Market, and found this Moulin de Provence, which has an appealing French name and reputation.

As a baguette fan, we were told to try "Le Moulin de Provence". We were not at all pleased with the one we bought. It is said to be a "French baguette", but it does not taste like it.

Don't be put off by the outward look of this eatery - it looks like a cafe but serves very good food. The display of cakes and pastries was amazing and the hot food, salad and dessert lived up to the display. Very good, reasonably priced place to eat.
