One of the Best restaurants North of Toronto. Chef is creative and daily specials are always inventive and different. Great wine selection and if you can sit in the Bar area do so. Love this place.

We were there as a party of four and it was an icredible meal. We all had the steaks and they were done to perfection. The server was particularly good!

Excellent restaurant. Food and menu choice is amazing! Great location. The steak I had you could cut with a fork.

Finding an elegant and relaxing place to go out for dinner on a special occasion when you're vegetarians is like climbing Mount Everest. Yes folks, it's a meat-eating world! We found our little "treasure" several years ago called "The North" when they were at their old location on Dunlop St. Our first time there, it was nothing short of unbelievable.... More

My friend and I had the 6 course tasting menu and were very impressed with it. Each and every dish was exciting and creative. The service was perfect even though it was quite busy. Anyone who truly loves great food loves this place. The long islands were perfect ! The best place in Barrie for a very romantic supper.

Dined at The North in January, while in Barrie to attend a funeral. This restaurant lifted our spirits and made a sad time most enjoyable. The waiter was professional, and Marco, the owner most hospitable. We brought our own wine, cost $20 for corkage fee. For appetizer, we shared the tuna tartar, excellent. For main, my husband had the daily... More

I have enjoyed good meals at The North in the past, but this time I was not so impressed with the food. The steak I ordered was tough and rubbery and with a fair amount of pure fat and grizzle (took some home for my doggie and she loved it). My husband's fish was too salty, I eat very salty,... More

Went to Barrielicious in 2016 and was not happy with the courses. Service was great as always. You should go when Barrielicious is not on to avoid the crowds. The regular menu has better portions and better food frankly. Scallops with frisee salad with citrus and cheese is great. Mushroom soup with truffle oil is the best in town and... More

I am going to preface my comments by saying that The North is still the best fine dining restaurant in Barrie. However, what elevates a restaurant from four stars to a perfect five stars? The answer is attention to detail. Staff should notice when a guest had used all their cutlery on previous courses before or at least during serving... More
