We came to Maxwells due to the positive reviews on Trip advisor and I was sure we were in the wrong place when we were done. Our first clue should have been that the pub wasn't busy. Firstly, they have a sign that indicates Guinness...More

Maxwell's has been around for a long time and always has claimed to have "The Best Fish & Chips in the World." I can attest that nothing about that has changed. A plus-sized haddock fillet, deep fried in a crispy beer batter that's feathery-light, and...More

I liked this place. Lots of beers, tv screens and pub fare. Very reasonably priced. The steak sandwich was delicious and tender. They offer a giant (80 oz) beer dispenser for the table! Like most pubs you can get fried pepperoni from Brothers as an...More

I can't speak for the food since we were only there for drinks, but the service was good and they had a decent beer selection with reasonable prices. Great spot for a drink!

Bit different than some of the other Halifax pubs. Massive beer selection and very friendly staff. Good location even in the construction zone.

We had a very attentive server, the food was very good. Reasonably priced. They have amazing grilled cheese and the portions were very good. Would definitely return.

Had the Friday night special of fish and chips for $6.99........cannot beat that price. Only thing that disappointed me was the selection of beers. Supposed to be an authentic British pub and had signs around advertising certain beers which, unfortunately were not available.
