STORIES FINE DINING, Halifax

We went back to this restaurant for my birthday meal. Appropriate spacing for social distancing was in place, which we thought made the restaurant more intimate. I had the goat cheese salad and the guinea hen and my partner had the carpaccio and beef tenderloin....Portions were just the right size. Bread before the meal was delicious. We had a cheese plate and flourless chocolate cake for dessert. Everything tasted fabulous, and was presented beautifully. Service was very evenly paced and the server was very professional and friendly, without being obtrusive. We would have preferred a couple more main course selections and a different type of salad for a starter. We were also disappointed that soup was not an option. They were out of the wine that we initially ordered, which is understandable, but slightly disappointing. This has been consistently the best fine dining restaurant in Halifax and for the price, we thought it was a very good value. We would highly recommend.More

Hidden gem

This is a special place to eat. The wine list is great and the meals are delicious. I would highly recommend for a special occasion or a date night. The atmosphere is cozy and elegant. It’s expensive but worth the splurge.

Second time here and not disappointed.

Second time here and not disappointed. Superb meal and service. Crab cake a little small but very tasty. Will definitely be back. Deserves #1 spot in Halifax!

Superb Dining in a relaxed atmosphere and excellent service

Went here for a romantic dinner with my wife. Loved the service and atmosphere as with COVID 19 restrictions, we were very isolated and well looked after by our server. Menu was small but every item was worthy of attention. Our meals were first rate,...served beautifully and taste was very good to exceptional. And a decent wine selection to boot. Highly recommend.More

Best duck

A very quiet, romantic atmosphere. Servers very professional. We decided to have the duck breast and it's probably the best duck bread we've every had. We will be back again to this restaurant.

Amazing meal

Had duck 3 ways for appetizer as well as caribou carpaccio was so tasty. For mains we had short rib cap steak and guinea hen. Both we exceptionally tasty. Desert was ok.

Cozy, elegant ... perfect spot to wow your date!

A very lovely and intimate setting. With tables dressed in beautiful white linens, and napkins, so large they could cover your lap twice, it felt decadent and kind of makes you feel spoiled. The Scallop appetizer was Amazing!!! Everything was lovely and the service was...exceptional.More

Wonderful restaurant!

Warm and inviting atmosphere; attentive and informed staff; varied menu; I enjoyed a delicious trout dinner served on buttery rice, accompanied by perfectly cooked vegetables! I so enjoyed this meal that I made. reservation for my husband and I for Valentines dinner.

If you want to WOW at everything book a table

If you want to WOW at everything you eat and drink then this is the place to try ! We read a review about hitting the library room for a cocktail first so we did that and it’s so charming ! We sat in oversized...leather chairs by the fire before dinner and it was a warm welcome we had a glass of NS wine and 16 yr scotch both were a great start to the evening ! In the dining room We had the duck plate to start wow! I had the Beef tenderloin for a main .... wow! And he had the Tuna wow! We finished with the flourless cake (tastes like a brownie) with raspberry ice cream Wow! And the terrine which is chocolate lovers dream I think you get it by now but again Wow! Hats off to the chef everything tastes perfect ! Our server Kat was super friendly , and knowledgeable! The food came out at perfect timings and hot ! She took great care of us and explained exactly what was on our plates ! If you are looking for a memorable dinner with great food this is the place ! We are back in a few months and there is a round two in our future for sure !More

Elegant Fine Dining

This restaurant is in the Halliburton Inn on Morris. The rooms are small but tables are well-spaced- quiet and small giving a private dining experience. Service was well-paced and certainly not rushed in any way. Had the Sea Scallop appetizers which were delicious and the...Hants County greens with goat cheese. The Faroe Island Salmon was amazing. Excellent wine list.More
