This is the sushi place you want if you’re hungry! We came and ordered sushi to take to the park and it was amazing! I have tried a few places in Halifax and this is my favourite, the staff make the place special and they...included lots of freebies! One extra Miso soup because they saw our son with us too! The salmon sashimi was fresh and they gave us way more than we could eat in one sitting. The price is exceptional as well. Do yourself a favour and make a stop in!More

Love this place! I've lived in Asia for 10 years and I'm used to legit sushi. It's fresh, it's yummy, the service is unfailingly friendly and kind, and there's always a free roll or three in with my order. Today they doubled my order for...free! Not the cheap stuff, either. Feeling the love for YOUUUUUU, Wasabi House. Thanks a ton. (That's how much I weigh now.) Something that sticks out is the great vibe amongst servers. They help each other out, take time to laugh and chat or make recommendations. It's a good place to be. The building is old and the wood is worn and that's part of Halifax's charm, in my opinion. Anyone who has been to Asia knows that good Asian food never comes from a shiny, pretty resto. Haters gonna hate. I love this place just the way it is.More

Does anybody really want to eat raw fish at a dirty and worn place? I don't know anybody. This place is a clear no go.

We find it the best sushi in Halifax. They always try to give something on the house. Excellent food.

The food was okay and the service was fine, but the physical condition of this restaurant is appalling. It is dirty and worn out (it needs a good cleaning and a paintjob), there were filthy curtains hanging on the way to the toilets, and the...toilets were nothing short of repugnant -- an appetite killer, for sure. But there's more: the front door doesn't shut properly, which made for a very cold draft in the middle of the winter (I ate with my coat on), and the bank machine didn't work the night we were there, so cash was the only option. I expect this place is still in business because of the many students who live nearby and the 9 to 11 pm "happy hour" food prices. I won't be going back. Ugh.More

We arrived early evening and the place was not very busy, but then it filled up quite quickly, and with good reason! The food and service were both amazing. We ordered some spicy miso soups, and then some rolls. The food was delicious, presented beautifully...(especially the spider roll), and the prices were very reasonable. The service was great as well. Our server was attentive and also brought us a free sample of another roll. I cannot remember what it was called, but is was very tasty.More

Just before Christmas we took 2 Vietnamese students to Wasabi House for supper. It was a great meal. We all enjoyed the variety and quantity. Not the type of place where you drink a lot and the bill was half what it would have been...at most other restaurants. Last time when I traveled to Halifax, me and my friends decided to stop by this restaurant, since I want some asian food and this place is considered one of the best restaurant in Halifax. As expected, when I first walked in, the place was...full of people, we had to wait in line for 30 minutes, I would recommand booking a reservation ahead. But after a long wait, we finally got for ourselves a table. We ordered some sushi salmon rolls with with Miso soup. The foods were amazing, they also provide us an extra plate of shrimp rolls. The customer services were quick and friendly, they keep a really sharp eyes on our water, and always ready to fill it when it is empty. For anyone want to experience Japan in Canada, this is the place to go.More

I have been in Wasabi House 2 times and the restaurant never lets me feel disappointed. The place is really cozy and small so it will be best to make the reservation or you need to wait at least 25 minutes for the table during...dinner time. I came with a group of 6 people and we all enjoyed the sashimi combination dish. It looked stunning and extremely fresh. The service was nice. I also ordered some rolls for to-go. My recommendation is the salmon rolls and eel rolls. They are the best.More

I saw all the great reviews so I stopped in to try the sushi, rolls, and tempura. The rolls all have a sweetness to them which was strange. The proportion of sashimi to rice in the nigiri is off - too much rice. There also...wasn't any wasabi underneath the sashimi. The tempura was ok but there was three pieces of sweet potatoes of varying thickness. For anyone who has spent any time in Japan, this was a very disappointing experience.More

Always great service and great food at a very reasonable price. Don’t over order as they are very generous in providing extra food for free. Bento box works well for me.
