Over all good experience. Had the "Scallops 3 ways" for starter they were good. I had the "Filet Mignon" for my main it was outstanding not a fan of the sides (green beans and white rice rolls). My wife had "California roll" and "Vegetable roll" which she also enjoyed. She had the creamsicle to drink which she loved I had... More

The hands-on owner/chef has created a dining gem in St. John's. Sushi is a specialty, but it is not to be confused with a Japanese restaurant. Eclectic menu with a very fine staff, and great atmosphere.

The food was first class as was the service. The server clearly enjoyed her job! The surf and turf starter was exceptional - nothing I could say to improve the quality of this dish. The sushi had rave reviews from all my colleagues at dinner. The fish specials (haddock) were very well presented and enjoyed. This restaurant also has a very... More

Wow is apparently what I say as I experience Tak Isiwata's suishi and sushimi offerings. Mind you I don't, normally. close my eyes as I savour my food either. Having said that, I always tell people to go there for the steak! I have been 5 minutes trying to find the right words to describe Laura's goat cheesecake. My tastebuds... More

Went to Basho for a family dinner in December. The teriyaki fillet was incredible! They had a tune poke appetizer as a special, and it was the best I've ever eaten. The cocktails are fresh, innovative, and so delicious! Outstanding service and atmosphere. I would definitely recommend dining here with family, friends or co-workers. The upstairs lounge can also seat... More

Basho is one of the premiere restaurants in St. John's. Very consistent and always delicious. Sushi is always fresh and handmade and their truffle fries are to die for.

Most of our food was delicious. My lamb shank had great flavour but it was tough. Do not order it! I mentioned it to the waitress and she just shrugged it off. Our waitress wasn't bad but her service wasn't great. She didn't make an effort to top up our water or drinks. She seems a bit confused but you... More

We eat out in St. John's a lot. This restaurant gives a consistently great meal with great service. Not traditional Newfoundland food, but great food with interest favours. Tuna tartar and sashimi are exceptional. Also their martinis are fresh and excellent. Make sure you get a reservation. Seating most nights are limited.

We went there for a wedding anniversary a group of six and it was great. This is probably the best meal I have had in St. John´s. We had both fish and meat and the dishes looked great and what I tasted was awesome. The service was great and the presentation of our food was super. Highly recommend
