When I asked where I should go for fish and chips, this was the recommended place by the hotel. A good solid choice. Nice selection of beer. Fish and chips was great but could have been better with another minute in the fryer. Friendly environment.

The Duke is a social institution in St. John’s. It is a great place for a GOOD pint of Guinness with the best fish and chips in town. The cod is always fresh, lightly battered with delicious fries, smothered in malt vinegar. You feel like...More

Best Fish and Chips in town. Selection of beers and great staff. Definitely recommended. The added bonus of football and sports on the TVs. That’s real football for you who play it with your hands! Premier League, Champions League, looking forward to the World Cup.

We had a group of 5 that all ordered fish & chips. All were very happy with the choice. I am in town for a week and will be back at the Duke before I leave.

I did go to the Duke yesterday, but just for the pints of ale, and I did remember to ask. It may not help but the answer I got was "four or six different ingredients but I don't know what they are.". I explained that someone... More
