My sister and I have discovered this fantastic Inn a few years ago, and we stop in frequently for lunch. The menu is not very elaborate, but that is fine. They have excellent choices and the food is simply outstanding. We've tried their soups, sandwiches, pastas and seafood. Our meals usually include salads and homemade bread. Our favorite is the... This hundred year old restaurant is in an awkward phase right now. The building is lovely, and the menu is pretty good if absolutely boring, staid, and static, but the service is slower than slow.

The food was outstanding - fresh vegetables from the garden. Beautifully and creatively cooked entrees and wonderful desserts. Wine choices are a bit lacking and the service can be inconsistent - but the final product (meal) was spectacular.

A friend in Ontario said we had to make a visit to this inn. Sunday lunch provided the opportunity and we arrived fashionably late. It's a well cared for old home and the owner spent plenty of time telling us about its history...he's from Ontario too! The young lady that sat us began to coach us through the drink possibilities... This is a unique dining experience. The atmosphere, food and service are fantastic. The dining room is elegantly furnished with fine china and wood panels. The food was incredible, even the desserts were unique and very tasty. I can't wait for my visit.

Whenever we have the opportunity, we come here for lunch. On this trip we stayed at the Inn so we could try out the dinner and breakfast. March is definitely off season for the Inn but our dinner was nevertheless very good. The Inn and the restaurant were decorated for Easter. There were rabbits everywhere! There is no wine list... This is one of my favourite spots to stay and to dine. Food is always excellent and decor is inviting and warm. Serving sizes are above average but you can take home what you don't eat. Deserts are outstanding; chocolate mocha tort and carrot cake are my favourites. Free Wifi and parking.

Recently had the pleasure of lunch at this grand Inn. The surroundings are from a past elegant era, the table settings quite civilized. However, it is a place where, although many Royals and other famous persons have walked these halls, you are not intimidated .. it is a relaxing and unpretentious place. Two of our party had seafood chowder. It... More

The Marshlands Inn is a very old mansion with an interesting history. I found a document dating from the 1800's in which King George lll granted permission to a long list of people to drain the area's marshes and swamps. It is beautifully and tastefully decorated with Christmas bows and bells interspersed with the antiques and portraits. Three of the... More
