Wife and I came in January for our first anniversary. After being seated, we found service was a little slow, bread came out quite a while after we were seated, not that we were in a rush. We had the steak and a pasta dish. The steak was done well, but for nearly $60 I received a very small amount of... More

Were here for a family brunch and enjoyed every minute. Lots of choices in the buffet and all so tasty. Crepes were a huge hit as well. We have away from here for some time and were pleased to see the atmosphere and food were still excellent. We won't forget and will be returning more often.

Went for lunch with a friend. The food is excellent and the service was perfect. You can easily have a good conversation as it is quiet. Nice views and you aren't pressured to leave when you're finished eating.

Great ambiance, service and food. Our lunch was delicious with myself and friend having the daily special of Prime Rib open faced sandwich with blue cheese and mushroom gravy. The accompanying vegetables were amazing and I could have made a meal of the veggies. Another friend had the penne with vegetables which were apparently the best. Very reasonably priced as... More

This is a very nice establishment located out of town in a quite site. Impressive building, lots of room inside. The seating was not crowded, the staff are very friendly and know the menu well. Lots of easy parking. There was eight of us and I had emailed them our preference of menu because their website stated that as a... More

This is a very nice, high end restaurant situated just west of Wpg. The restaurant is located in a converted family estate sitting on the banks of the Assinaboine River, making the views beautiful. You look out to greenery and trees, no view of a neighbouring building. The food is very good but it is pricey, the service is top... More

The food was just incredible, lots of choices from you average breakfast dining to exquisite meats and dishes. The stations that were made to order like the crepe, omelette and carvery were fantastic. And to top it all off the omelette boy was absolutely stunning! His beauty brightened my day, my friends and I wanted to grab his number but... More

You need a car to get to The Gates, but it's worth the drive. My friend and I went on a Thursday night - and sat on the patio - alone. The patio was roomy, not in the direct sun, but it was empty, as was the rest of the rather large restaurant - yet the attentiveness of the wait... More

I enjoy going to The Gates on Roblin from time to time, mainly for the atmosphere. At times I've had mediocre fare but on this occasion it was outstanding. The pickerel preparation and accompaniments were exceptionally well prepared. Also, the lychee cocktail with a hint of heat and a kick of ginger is so refreshing on a hot summer evening!

We had not been to the Gates for a while. No particular reason other than trying different restaurants. Chose this restaurant for my Wife's B Day. The property is fantastic set in a large country house with a few acres. Sat in the front dining room as it was raining but the patio would have been fabulous. Service was attentive,... More
