Things we love: 1. A small menu, which pretty much guarantees that every option will be special 2. An imaginative approach to blending ingredients, and preparing them exceptionally well 3. A commitment to local sourcing 4. Strong customer service which delivered the level of care we expect, without being too slick or ingratiating - a real human touch. We enjoyed... More

This a great bistro- we went as a family- and everyone of us enjoyed the food- the flavors are unbelievable, so intense and they go so well together. The food is super fresh. The atmosphere is great, relaxed and friendly. The staff is very attentive. It's pricey but worth it- indulge yourself. At the first bite my kids and husband... More

We dined here two nights ago and enjoyed one of the best meals of our lives. The taste combinations have to be experienced to be believed. I had the elk parfait to start which was different but delicious. We both had the pork for a main and were impressed that we needed no extra vegetables/ salad. All the flavours of... More

Very sophisticated place - extremely committed to environmentally sound practices, but still delivers delicious and inventive food. Crispy pork blly and Dungeness Crab appatizer followed by pan fried Char with asperagas panna cotta - just an awesome meal. The staff are very professional and knowledgable about the menu, the source of the ingrediants and the preparations. They made several accomodations... More

We just got back from a week of dining and hiking in Whistler, and loved the Alta Bistro so much it is the only place we ate at twice! The $45 three-course meal cannot be beat! The food is excellent, especially their desserts. The atmosphere is intimate without being pretentious, and the noise level low (perfect!). Definitely worth the short... More

The offseason set dinner is jaw-droppingly good value. The cocktails and wine list are also pretty special.

We had the set menu here in late June. If you make it on Sunday-Thursday before June 26th 2014 this constitutes incredible value -- three courses for $25, less than the regular price of some of the entrees. We had a fabulous meal. Started with Vancouver Island oysters, moved on to beef cheek and arctic char for mains. The beef... More

I've been here a few times for dinner and I've always enjoyed the food, the service and the atmosphere. Their menu is based on seasonal availability and the source many of their ingredients locally. It makes for a varied menu with unique tastes. The service is attentive and personal and the atmosphere is relaxed .

This is my favorite restaurant in Whistler and in many ways epitomizes what West Coast cuisine should be. The style here is a bit hard to describe - french food infused with a tinge of molecular gastronomy along with sustainable ethos including foraging for local ingredients. That may sound like they are trying too hard but it comes off across... More

Description
Locally inspired cuisine set in a casual bistro atmosphere. Chef Nicholas Cassettari combines his classic training, top tier experience, and world travels with the best of B.C.'S bounty to create the fine flavours at Alta Bistro. Service is casual and prompt in the dining room and bar. The wine list is French focused, with the best of B.C. As well as international selections (many by the glass) with Enomatic machines dispensing fine and eclectic selections to pair with Alta's cuisine. Mixologists behind our bar craft some of Whistler's finest cocktails. The cozy bistro atmosphere is lively and welcoming. Reservations are a must.
