We had a lovely meal at Alta Bistro. It's tucked away just off the main drag in Whistler and we had a nice corner seat. The menu was creative and seasonal and the food was fantastic - including a very interesting parsnip bread pudding entree. Lovely wine list and service.

Excellent food, especially the Elk Tar Tar. The restaurant also has a very good wine list to select from as well. The duck was to die for as was the rock cod.

First time at the bistro, and well, delicious is an understatement. From the octopus to the bison to the Christmas brownie, it was too good. In fact the Christmas brownie tastes, well, just like Christmas. One bite and all I could imagine was a tree with presents and Santa ho ho ho-ing! The service was impeccable, and to be honest... We had a great meal here on Christmas Eve, really enjoyed it; in order to take account of expectation management for readers I would make a couple of comments. Bistro it aint, much more a fine dining experience (as far as the food is concerned) in a rustic setting. They have a small menu which is always good when a... More

We went to Alta Bistro for dinner over the holiday season. The restaurant is very charming, small and intimate with quaint decor. The menu was seasonal with a smaller selection of thoughtful and well executed appetizers, entrees and desserts. Enjoyed the deli board as an appetizer and smoked alaskan black cod with bacon for an entree. The spiced Christmas brownie is... More

The food here is fantastic. I loved being able to make choices from food sources in the 100 mile concept. Elk tartar! Delicious. Fantastic trout and a brownie creation for dessert that all left me wanting for nothing but a nice stroll around the village to see the lights. It is conveniently located in the heart of the village with... More

Made a reservation here for our trip to Whistler last month, and I'm sure glad that we did. To start my girlfriend had a cup of cream of mushroom soup, and wished she got a whole bowl since it was so good. I went with the Boudin Noir, which was pleasantly surprising since I have never had blood sausage before;... More

Wonderful and interestingly prepared fresh local food. We had a really great time. The menu is small but it is well prepared and the service was excellent. There is also an extensive wine list, largely French. We will definitely be going back for a visit next time we are in Whistler.

We have eaten at Alta Bistro. In our opinion, the food is nothing short of amazing! The menu offers dishes that I've never send or even heard of. We had the Elk Tartar and Red Snapper with curry squid ink which was prepared to perfection and a real treat for our taste buds. Our waiter was super helpful and attentive.... More
