I like Alta Bistro's food and atmosphere but if you've only got a few nights in Whistler and you're narrowing down your choices I would say Alta could be knocked from the list. The service was great, but the meal wasn't particularly creative or inspired...More

Very expensive for what they serve. Very artistic but nothing in the plate. Strange mix of ingredients. Didn't find very tasty. The affordable wine list is excessively limited. Very disappointed especially when they call that French cuisine.

We went for dinner for our anniversary. We started with some pretty great soup and bread followed by some less than optimal wine. Dinner. Dinner was below average. The protein was the only thing finished on both plates. Will not be returning.

This was our first visit to Alta bistro. We had cocktails and champagne to celebrate the waiter served the champagne in a wine glass instead of a champagne flute which we thought was a bit odd and took the edge of the toast for the...More

Locally inspired cuisine set in a casual bistro atmosphere. Chef Nicholas Cassettari combines his classic training, top tier experience, and world travels with the best of B.C.'S bounty to create the fine flavours at Alta Bistro. Service is casual and prompt in the dining room and bar. The wine list is French focused, with the best of B.C. As well as international selections (many by the glass) with Enomatic machines dispensing fine and eclectic selections to pair with Alta's cuisine. Mixologists behind our bar craft some of Whistler's finest cocktails. The cozy bistro atmosphere is lively and welcoming. Reservations are a must.
