Willie's is an anchor at the foot of Johnson st. It has been there forever. The ancient building is spotless and warm with high ceilings and exposed brick. The eclectic menu has a suitable offering for everyone. Service was slower than the business crowd could...More

Granted, we went at a very busy time (11:15 AM Saturday morning), but it took about 15 minutes to get a table, then another 45 to 60 minutes to get our food after we placed our order. Nevertheless, the food and coffee were good. I...More

We popped in for breakfast before whale watching trip (5 adults) and had simple bacon and eggs, more due to time contraints than anything, and let staff know of our tine limit. Food and service was lovely! Friendly and efficient staff, and food delicious and...More

Went to Willie's on a whim since another local cafe was jam packed. Homemade soups, jams, breads etc. Had the Lox bagel and carrot ginger soup; not disappointed by any means. Will most definitely return when back in Victoria.

We happened to come to this restaurant twice over the past weekend, and both times the food was amazing (turkey mushroom omelet and buttermilk pancakes), but service was way too slow. If you run out of your coffee or water once your food has been...More

We had the classic breakfast special each. We arrived between 8:00-9:30 when this is on special. The eggs are free range, which is a bonus. Even the jams are made in the restaurant. Food was good, so was the service. We always stop by here...More

Stopped by for breakfast and was expecting a standard meal experience. The restaurant was busy and we were placed in a fairly high traffic area. We order an omelette and fruits parfait. The barn omelette...turkey and veggies was amazing good. Fluffy and filled with veggies...More

We called in on a cold spring day and really enjoyed our meal next to the open fire. We had the mexican soup and it was fantastic. Our only criticism would be was that we would have prefered real milk for our tea rather than...More

Hi Peter, Thank you so much for enjoying our delicious soup and I feel very sorry for the sachets that degraded your dining experience. Based on your criticism, we can provide fresh milk if some customers have preference. Replacing sachets with fresh milk for each...More

Hello Willies I wrote a negative review regarding your Bohemian skillet, my apology. Yes I mentioned I was in the business successfully for over 25 years, now done and moved onwards. Loved it and time for a change. Yes it was $12.50 not $15 with taxes $15, and I always tip well. The remaining of my table had lovely breakfast. I was the complainer. So on a more positive note, very nice place and I am sure most of your dishes shine. The skillet I would use a hash potato not a huge chunk deep fried potato tossed with meager garnish. Load it with garnish and seasoning, sauteed in the pan with a touch of herb, maybe Marjoram and fresh parsley, whatever. Then generously dust it with feta on top where its seen and those lovely eggs. Maybe some Red pepper for color vs Green or a mix. By sauteing the product the flavours will mix and enhance the potato and be generous with the garnish. It said spinach and really all I received was a leaf or two, feta at the bottom brown and one piece of green pepper the size of my thumbnail. Cooked, a leaf or two of spinach looks like nothing. I am sorry but it was disappointing and so boring, and really could be improved with very little effort. That's my thought. Can I retract my surprised disappointed? As for the public please go to Willie's, it was just one dish that in my opinion was..... I am not in the restaurant business anymore, successful, miss it but moved on. I will retract my negativity and give the positive. I will come back to Willies again. I will have the turkey Omelette that has received high praise. Maybe Ill try the new improved skillet or what some people call hash.
