our first stop in Victoria was breakfast. the best food ever -full when you leave. The staff was outstanding - felt like family. May have to wait to get seated - well worth it. Travelled the island and a week later had to go back for breakfast.... greeted with hugs form most of the staff.... they remember their customers, A... More

We came here for breakfast on a morning in Victoria the staff here are amazing so friendly and helpful. I ordered 2 pancakes and my partner had 2 slices of French toast. The portions are huge I just about managed one pancake and had a little bit of the other and my partner managed most of her French toast. We... More

We had a good dinner and the staff is friendly. We enjoyed the atmosphere and it was nice for children too.

We have been to John's Place six Or seven times over the past few years. It is a must. This is typical diner food multiplied by 100. First you get some of the best warm rosemary bread with soft butter. I hate it when you get hard butter to try to spread. The menu is varied and it is probably... More

I stopped in here for brunch this month while travelling for business on the reccomendation of a friend to dine with a pal. What a great spot. I'd visit this place just for the attitude of the servers, most of whom have been working here for years. That may tell you everything you need to know. Despite the strong reccomendations... More

Ate breakfast here twice. First time on a very restricted diet...and they were able to accomodate my requests - with a smile. The second time, no longer on a restricted diet, ordered the "Catch 22" - which is a 1/2 order of one of their Benedicts and a gluten free waffle...awesome breakfast...very filling large, delicious waffle...real maple syrup and butter.... This was rated #1 for breakfast in Victoria so we had to give it a go. While I'm not sure I'd agree as the other two places I went to in my opinion were better the food here was still good. I think the rating comes a lot from whats on the walls than the food. Classic diner style nothing... More

Very nice breakfast here. Great pricing and good value. This place has a very comfortable diner feel and really attentive service. The only drawback was the hollandaise sauce on my eggs Benny, which was a bit different than other recipes and not my favourite. Still worth a visit.

We were recommended to eat here by the concierge at our hotel as a place that was kind of off the beaten path. The ambience of sports and rock n roll artifacts won me over right away. Then the attention, even on a busy night, was excellent. The staff reacted to every need quickly and anticipated our needs. The food... More

We'd been to John's Place before, but it had been about a year. I ordered the Cloudy with a chance of Meatloaf and my wife had the Chicken Parmigiana! Both dishes were plentiful and very tasty! We came one other day on this trip and weren't disappointed! Staff is always friendly and the food can't be beat. Very reasonable prices... More
