We arrived at the Brasserie just after 5 and were told there wouldn't be a table available until 730pm. We were a bit surprised since you can't make reservations. Well it was worth the wait. The food is delicious. The staff are great. Knowledgable. We will return for sure. My only complaint was that the staff continually wanted to clear... More

When people are prepared to line up more than 30 minutes before opening time you know the food must be good. We had four perfectly cooked meals, exactly as ordered. 5/5 for food. The seating method is somewhat unusual with everyone in line going in at the same time, seated according to the number in the party, and served in... More

As this restaurant does not take reservations, people start lining up outside at least 30 minutes before the 5:30 pm opening time. It is not a large restaurant so lots of people get turned away by the time all tables are taken. The food is OK but somewhat expensive; $19 for burger and fries, $26 for the rock fish that... More

I travel for work and tour local restaurants to kill off the evenings. I enjoy Victoria for its impressive restaurant scene. That scene does means it is competitive, though. Of all the restaurants I have visited in my many times to Victoria, L'ecole is the consistent stand-out. They are the best balance of youthful instincts and old world techniques in... More

All dishes were presented well with all enjoying their selections except me. Our friends have eaten there many times and are known to staff. Very good wine selection not over priced - refreshing. I recommend the Morel Cotes de Rhone. I love duck. But when the leg and thigh is served on top of pasta it is my opinion the... More

They do not take reservations and open at 5:30, they were already full when we arrived at 5:45 so we ate at the bar and had a great time. Not only was the food delicious, but Adam, the bartender/waiter, made the evening memorable. If ever in Victoria again, it will be a must to eat there.

I think I must have eaten at a different restaurant than all the other reviewers here. First, no reservations are taken, and when you arrive you are told on a very rainy night to "go take a walk" until we could be seated almost an hour later. Fair enough, it's a tiny place and your other choice is to sit... More

This was highly rated. Don't believe it. They don't take reservations, except you show up an if they are full they give you a time (expected) and will "sms" you. They didn't make the time. Next this is NOT a romantic place, why? Well it was packed and EXTREMELY noisy - you had to shout across the table to be... More

This small and intimate restaurant was a real find. We hadn't booked and the restaurant was busy but a table was found for us. The food was superb. I had the Rock fish, a local meaty white fish, which came on aubergine fritters and chard with bacon. My husband had a sirloin steak which was cooked to perfection and, so... More

Found some good reviews of Brasserie L'ecole in Victoria and wanted to give it a try. Ordered the Steak Frites for dinner and found it average in quality and presentation. My wife tried the Moules Frites and found them average as well with the broth a little thin. Overall I would recommend it if you are visiting Victoria for the... More
